The boys did some local shallow water rock fishing along with some good hits on Calico and Sand Bass. Just because the water and air are cold, doesn’t mean there isn’t some good fishing to be had. We’ll be offering Baja Full days all winter long targeting Vermillion Rockfish, Lingcod, Calico Bass, and Yellowtail for anglers looking to spend a day on the water. The inshore fishing at Mag may or may not have been the highlight of the entire trip. For us inshore nerds, catching a fish a cast for hours on end never gets old. Big spotties, trigger fish, jacks, snappers, and countless other stuff we have no idea what was provided so much fun. We were only able to explore a fraction of the bay and experienced incredible fishing! Today we tied the boat up from our first ever trip to Mag Bay. This was a 12 day trip filled with incredible fishing, great scenery, and overall very nice weather. A trip of this magnitude proved to be quite the endeavor. Highlights included a good hit on the Wahoo at the ridge, along with some crazy wide open dorado stops, a good taste of Mag Bay Striped Marlin fishing, a fun morning of good grade yellowtail on the coast, and last but not least a couple of insane inshore day...s spent inside the bay on the tender! Challenges turned into lessons and we faired just fine for our first run. Now for a long punch list of maintenance and upgrades for the vessel over the winter as she readies for another summer of local fishing followed by hopefully a fall of southern exploits. We’re locked and loaded for the final stretch of our season. The last open days onboard the Lucky B for the 2021 season are October 14,15,18, 21,22, 24, and 25th. Local offshore trips are $2800 targeting Yellowfin tuna, Dorado, and Yellowtail. Outer banks trips are $3650 targeting big bluefin on the kite (weather permitting). We have had four bites and pulled the hook on a nice swordfish in the last two trips. Definitely some opportunity at a once in a lifetime fish!
