FEMA, Cal OES and other Federal and State Agency Claims: Zero. That's the amount FEMA and Cal OES will take from the $13.5 billion trust fund before each and every Fire Victim claimant has been paid in full. After fierce negotiations by the fire victims' attorneys, FEMA has agreed that, unless there is money left in the trust after all fire victim claimants are paid in full, FEMA will not be paid. Cal OES has withdrawn its claim completely. Other federal and state agencies ha...ve agreed that they will be paid only out of interest earned on the $13.5B, increase in stock value, and money that the Trust brings in from lawsuits against PG&E’s contractors, if any. The Creation of the Trust Terms and Development of Claims Resolution Procedures The proposed settlement with PG&E calls for a Fire Victims Trust to be established in the amount of $13.5B, funded half in cash and half in stock, to pay Fire Victim claims. The stock will be sold so that cash can be paid to claimants. Nothing in the plan requires any claimant to be paid in stock. We continue to work with the proposed Trustee, Justice John Trotter (ret.), who is a former judge from the California Court of Appeals with extensive experience resolving wildfire claims, and his team, to develop fair and transparent procedures for us to follow when submitting your claim to the Trust for resolution.
