To the LLS Community, The Armenian Law Students Association of Loyola Law School strongly condemns the Azerbaijani government for its latest attacks on Armenia. We stand with and strongly support Armenian soldiers working to protect the Armenian border and citizens. On July 12, 2020, amidst a global pandemic, the Azerbaijani military began shelling and attacking the Tavush region of Armenia. The Azerbaijani military has taken up positions among its own civilians and has been... shelling Armenian civilians across the border. The Azerbaijani military targeted civilian residences and structures, and have even struck an Armenian kindergarten. Azerbaijan has even threatened to hit an Armenian nuclear power plant. Anti-Armenian aggression is not merely limited to acts of military violence. While the rest of the world has been protesting racial injustice, Azerbaijanis have been demonstrating all around the world, demanding their government to attack Armenia while chanting Death to the Armenian. Additionally, markets owned by Azeris in Moscow have banned the sale of Armenian produce. Azerbaijan has also launched cyber attacks on Armenian government websites. The international community must strongly condemn Azerbaijan for these acts of violence as it continues to operate under the guise of neutrality. The lack of strong response from the international community has enabled Azerbaijan to continue these acts of violence with impunity while threatening to destabilize the region. We ask the Loyola Law School community to join ALSA in condemning Azerbaijan for its latest attacks on Armenia and to stay informed on recent developments of the conflict. The international community must stand with millions of Armenians in condemning Azerbaijani aggression. Additionally, please consider showing your support by donating to these foundations: 1. Armenian Wounded Heroes Fund Inc. 2. Paros Foundation: Emergency Reconstruction Fund Thank you, Armenian Law Students Association
