Some days are like that. Especially after attending a birth. Turn your sound on!

Posted @withregram @bmcobgyn What's the deal with prenatal aspirin? As we've discussed this week, black mothers not only suffer preeclampsia disproportionately; they die more often from it, and their maternal mortality rate overall is two and a half times that of white women. Aspirin is another effort to redress that inequity in the prenatal setting. BMC is a leader in addressing health care disparities, including among pregnant women. ""Low-dose aspirin, 81 milligrams, ta...ken at night starting at 12 weeks gestation, has been shown to lower the risk of preeclampsia, preterm birth, and intrauterine growth restriction, says Nyia Noel, a BUSM assistant professor of OBGYN, who with Dr. Abbott coleads BMC’s Prenatal Aspirin Project (PNA)."" Read the full story, including the story of Abiba Braimah, one of the mothers interviewed for this story who is pictured above with her children: daughter, Zaina, was born prematurely; after starting aspirin for subsequent pregnancies, her sons Mo and Issaa were born full or near full term. Love and appreciate the body that you have! You are alive and creating value. Some have created more life and some are supporting others to grow their lives in limitless ways. I love you and hope you feel supported by me. YOU are SO beautiful!

Posted @withregram @emilyskyefit I cried when I first saw my body in the mirror after I gave birth to Izaac (6 hours before I took this pic). It wasn’t because I didn’t like what I saw, it was because I was IN LOVE with my body & was in complete AWE of what it had just done. It had literally birthed my son on it’s own at home - I didn’t even have to push - it did it itself! HOW FREAKIN AMAZING ARE OUR BODIES?!!! I’ve never in my life loved my body more & instead... of criticising it & picking out our every little so called flaw (which I’d done for many of my younger years) I cried with joy & gratitude & thanked it. It makes me sad that so many women including my old self dislike their bodies. I am so blessed to grow, birth & breastfeed my 2 precious babies. I honestly couldn’t care less about having extra fat, cellulite, saggy skin or stretch marks. SO GRATEFUL #postpartumbody #postpartum #justgavebirth #myamazingbody #blessedmumma #6hourspostpartum #planahomebirthnexttime #drugfreebirth #naturalbirth See more
