Just discovered a very interesting Henle Edition of the Five Pieces in Folk Style by Schumann with commentary of David Geringas, one of the greatest cellists ...of our time. [ Here is the link: https://www.henle.de//fuenf-stuecke-im-volkston-op-102-fi/ ] I actually always associated Mit Humor piece with Toulouse-Lautrec, especially urban underclass It is flattering to find out our ideas somewhat conform with the master’s. We made this video of Mit Humor with Maestro Frank Fetta for our Cool Classics Christmas Show a few weeks ago, hope you will enjoy it! Special thanks to L.T.Martinez who danced it so wonderfully characteristic! Here is the video link, hope you will enjoy it: https://youtu.be/81jCWw8IHp8 Please leave your comments and subscribe our channel, we would love to stay in touch via YouTube as well!

Really proud of my students for discovering and recording an original cello trio piece by Anton Reicha (1770 1836). It is an incredibly challenging and demand...ing piece, as well as one of a few in our repertoire original fully developed trios for celli. Good job guys! Please check a brief note about Reicha below, it is interesting. ALSO: Dear friends, we would really appreciate it if you could gently click SUBSCRIBE button right below the video on our YouTube channel. Since the arrival of the virus Maestro Frank Fetta and myself (as well as pretty much all musicians) shifted our activities primarily into recordings and we have a lot to offer now in the video/audio field. There was a substantial learning curve but now we can safely announce there will be a lot of new fun and really well done videos coming out, so we would like you to join us on this adventure! Advertising all our YouTube activities via the entire spectrum of all our social media networks is honestly too hard, so please subscribe to stay in touch! We cherish your attention and would love to hear your opinion and suggestions! ABOUT ANTON REICHA: He was a Czech-born, Bavarian-educated, later naturalized French composer and music theorist. A contemporary and lifelong friend of Beethoven, he is now best remembered for his substantial early contributions to the wind quintet literature and his role as teacher of pupils including Franz Liszt, Hector Berlioz and César Franck. He was also an accomplished theorist, and wrote several treatises on various aspects of composition. Some of his theoretical work dealt with experimental methods of composition, which he applied in a variety of works such as fugues and études for piano and string quartet. None of the advanced ideas he advocated in the most radical of his music and writings, such as polyrhythm, polytonality and microtonal music, were accepted or employed by other nineteenth-century composers. Due to Reicha's unwillingness to have his music published (like Michael Haydn before him), he fell into obscurity soon after his death and his life and work have yet to be intensively studied.
