Teammates of the Week opened December with positive energy, can-do work ethic and shining attitudes. Our students are making hybrid learning all that it can be! We're so proud of our team and all of our students. We applaud these amazing students who take the honors this week. GO TEAM!

Art with Mrs. Hopkins: & In week 12 we explored the theme of thankfulness, the history of Thanksgiving, and Native American Culture. In TK/K we created a Turkey Drawing that illustrates what we are thankful for. In 1st Grade we read How to Catch a Turkey and created our own escaping Turkeys using lines for texture. In 2nd grade we learned about the life and work of Georgia O’Keeffe. We also looked at traditional Native American Textiles. We combined... these ideas to create our drawings. In 3rd grade we learned about the significance of the Headdress in Native American Culture. We learned about how each feather has a special meaning. We created a different perspective portrait and constructed our own Headdress Drawing. In 4th grade we learned about Native American Totem Poles and designed our own to tell a story. In 5th grade we used our knowledge of design and what we learned about the history of feathers to create our feather designs. In week 13 we explored the theme of thankfulness. We listened to music that helped us understand what it means to be thankful, grateful, and to show appreciation. December 14 - 18, 2020 - Winter Spirit Week. The top three Team Lone Tree classes who have most spirit for the week will receive incentives when we return in January.

MASK UPDATE: We have not received the official state mask policy change for Preschool through 2nd grade students that was going to require mask wearing at all t...imes by all students. So until we receive the official state guidelines, we will stay status quo with masks and continue to have classes with masks highly recommended but not required in Preschool through 2nd grades.
