VETERANS WE THANK YOU! Pictured: Our Uncle Bill Maj. Bill White is 105 years young! A career Marine of 30 years, he served in World War II, took a grenade at the battle for Iwo Jima, received a Purple Heart, went on to serve in the Korean War. Joined the force in Huntington Beach & was the HB Jailer for years. He was a driving factor in the creation of the department's Search & Rescue Program & the Explorers program for the youth. In this role he became friends with HB Hume,... Marquis' Father-in-law. He now resides in Stockton CA. When we were kids he had a machine gun above his desk that he said he brought back from Japan that he took off a bunker he overtook. We were always in Agh! He always had the most perfect grass on the block, the tightest made bed, an impressive coin & stamp collection & no shortage of Marine paraphernalia. Hooraah Marine!!! Thank you for your service.
