Have you seen a javelina? These cute little "pig-like" creature is hiding in the grass here in Arizona. We've been lucky enough to already see three (3) of these peccaries in the first couple of weeks here. Our latest sighting was a pair on a hike who were walking through the grass. A nearby dog tipped us off by barking and knew they were there.... While you want to say it like a "javelin," according to Lauray Yule's book it's "hav-a-lina" here in the States. Baby javelinas should be around later in the summer or early fall when food is bountiful and start off around 1 pound. So I'm not-so-secretly hoping to see those later this year. #javelina #arizona #southwest #desertlife
