What to do with Kale and Brussel Sprouts? I’ve been really into making Veggie Chips lately. So yesterday after work I made myself a snack of Brussel Sprouts, Kale and Leek/Green Garlic (new item this coming week). I cut them into leaf/bite sizes and bake them at 350 *F until they Crisp up to desired texture of your choice. I’m going to experiment this week with other veggies but for today, I’m doing another batch of Brussel Sprouts leaves as they are too good! Today, we made a stop at @mallardlakeranchkiwi to chat (distanced and masked) with the owner Bob and his wife. It’s beautiful to see 40 years old kiwi vines! They have supplied our multi-farm CSA with their kiwis for 11 years! They are always delicious.. My husband @chrispotterart tagged along and made them this beautiful painting.

We have decided to take the thanksgiving week off to be with our family and decompress. 2020 has brought a surge of customers and we totally appreciate the support, and are thankful. But... both Sarah and I haven’t been able to take off during the pandemic. We are also closing for the winter holidays since at that time production and produce availability is low. We n...ormally close for two week but have decided to close for three this year and give us a longer opportunity to travel and be offline. We have kids at home that have been glued to their screen and want to take them camping without worrying about wifi and work. Merci! Gracias and thank you! Like every year, my deepest gratitude is towards our farmers. Farming is 60-80 hours (if your lucky)a week, always having to balance losses and bumper crop. Having to literally choose to give up on a too far gone unweeded carrot bed or harvest/planting when your short handed. Maximizing profit is hard, and they are so nice. Plus! I love what they grow, it’s such a beautiful variety and quality. I have been feeling this gratitude even more this year. I know we can feed the community. We won’t go hungry. We are fortunate. My family always comments that we eat as good as the best fed person on the planet. Support local above all when you can! Thanks for reading, I rarely write on our business page... but here we go.
