Meet Mikey, the bricklayer from Staten Island who is competing on Tough As Nails for his family. He's bringing heart, dedication, and experience to this season!

The marble being used in the lobby renovation of the Social Security Administration's headquarters is actually being REused. This marble was part of the origina...l headquarters, completed in 1960, and is more than 50 years old. Reusing the stone that already existed in the space is ecologically beneficial and historically impactful. The BAC masons and finishers working on this project are helping to preserve the legacy of the original HQ. This presents many unique challenges for #bac1mvd signatory contractor Lorton Stone, LLC as they restore and repurpose the stone. The stone is especially delicate, so extreme care has to be used when handling it. The black #marble panels are going up in the elevator bay and along the back wall of the lobby, which is the space seen in the photos below. We wish #LortonStone luck on this project as they finish it up. We love this example of a team working to #BACtrack while also looking ahead to the building's future.
