This was a fun discovery on the homepage of BasiPilates. A wonderful Pilates mat class with Rael Isacowitz!

Meatless Mondays guys. Whatever choices we made over the weekend are in the past, lets jump-start the week with something healthy AND tasty. Try this recipe, seriously it's delicious and amazing! It is Jonah tested and approved:)

Earlier today a friend texted me to ask if I would meet her for a hike last minute. Day to day I have to make sure to schedule my workout time but it's so much more fun to get an impromptu invite from a friend to exercise and catch up. I encourage you all to get in touch with a friend and go run, walk, hike, bike, sweat, laugh, have fun!

In my family I'm known as the kale queen because I will find a place for kale at every meal. Have you ever tried adding it to your oatmeal? Brilliant! Obviously I'm a big fan but my husband took a little convincing. When I made a simple RAW kale salad one night we hit the jackpot, now he can't get enough of it. We like it simple with just some lemon or lime juice, olive oil, a little agave syrup and then toss with whatever you like: pear, chopped nuts, avocado, etc. The most important part is to make sure to massage the kale with the lime juice and olive oil first for 3 minutes, SUPER IMPORTANT! Here are some more tasty raw kale salad recipes to check out.

Lately, I've been running around a whole lot and there are days that I find I only have 15 minutes here and there to do some exercise. I'm the type of person that tries to get my exercise where I can: I take the stairs instead of an escalator/elevator, I take the hilly route instead of the flat route, I park at the farthest end of a parking lot (it's also a lot easier to find a spot), and at night when I'm watching Parks & Rec you'll find me on my Pilates mat doing the Hundred, bridges, and planks. If you don't have a full hour to exercise each day don't let it stop you from exercising altogether. I encourage you to park farther away from your destination, for my New Yorkers walk from 14th St. to West 4th St. and get on the subway there, and at night throw down the mat and move your body. I promise it will relax you and empower you.
