Clobber the Clutter by going from room to room and getting rid of the personal items - get those items into storage so that buyers can imagine their own items in those rooms. A word on 'storage' - this does not mean a closet in the house. We have found that buyers will open closets to see the space for themselves

How to entice a potential buyer to enter. It's about the curb appeal. Walk across the street and take a good look at your home. Your eye should be drawn to the front door - a clean and neat front door, and not to grass that needs mowing, old rain gutters, peeling paint, overgrown weeds..... The front door needs to make a statement so try painting it a rich color, like red, black, deep blue or chocolate brown.

A fresh coat of paint will perk up a room's look. It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do. It not only makes the house look better, it also helps with odors. When selling a home select a neutral color. And that doesn't mean white. Try a few of the warmers tans, honey and sage colors.

Believe it or not, despite the stay-at-home mandate, we received a call this past week to assist with staging a home on the market. And we got it done remotely. If you have a home that needs a little TLC before listing (or if it is already listed), we can help. We're a call away. A few inexpensive extras to help: Add a bowl of lemons, bring in some fresh flowers, add a few throw blankets and shop your home for a few accent pillows. Add candles for the cozy affect.

Fifth in our 2019 mini series on Staging during the Holiday Season. If you have a "For Sale" sign in your front yard this Holiday Season, it doesn't mean you cannot get into the Holiday spirit. Think about your Christmas color scheme and let it complement your home interior design. The best part of this is that you do not need to break the bank to do so. Let the colors blend and let the colors neutralize the color palette of your home. When you do get to add decoration, this palette will be the perfect backdrop for any of your decorations. Our suggestions is to stick to neutral colors, especially if you're worried about clashing colors. Whites, opal, creams, golds and silver woul dbe perfect complementary colors for any color palette. #LivingDesignInteriors #Interiordeisgn #holidaydecor #livingdesignhomestagingFifth

Fourth in our 2019 mini series of home staging during the holidays. Perhaps now would be a good time to share those wonderful freshly baked cookies. We all love our traditional Christmas cookie baking time (I know we do, my daughter is the baking wizard), so share them with not only your family and friends, but also put them out for open house events! Those yummy smells are wonderful and the baked goods are great, just ensure your kitchen is ultra clean - prospective buyers will definitely notice everything!

Third in our 2019 mini series on Staging during the Holiday Season. If you have a "For Sale" sign in your front yard this Holiday Season, it doesn't mean you cannot get into the Holiday spirit. A large Christmas tree can make a small room look even smaller. If you have to have a tree, select a small skinny one or find a super nice tabletop tree. Here's why - a tall tree visually lowers a ceiling that is already low. ... However, should you have a double volume space for your tree, go ahead and show off the ceiling height with a tall tree! Our best advice would be to make sure to not overwhelm the base of the tree nor interrupt the traffic flow through the room.

Second in our 2019 mini series on Staging during the Holiday Season. If you have a "For Sale" sign in your front yard this Holiday Season there are a few things one needs to avoid. The biggie is avoiding garish colors or blinking Christmas lights when doing your holiday home staging. We really like the elegant white lights that draw positive attention to a few lovely architectural features of your home. Here's what NOT to do!

And we're back with our Holiday Season Staging mini series! This certainly is not the best time of the year to place your home on the market, but sometimes, one just does not have a choice or other option. I did hear from a Realtor friend of mine, that it’s helpful to know that most buyers looking at this time of year are serious about buying. The Holidays is often times an emotional time for many families, but with some creativity you can stage your home with neutral and tasteful holiday decorations. You will be sure to enjoy your own decor and also share the seasonal spirit with prospective buyers..
