While we are seeing more and more color in kitchen design, there's something timeless about a white kitchen. I especially like the larger format floor tiles and the simplicity of the slab cabinet doors. For me the light fixture above the sink simply stole my heart. Every room needs a statement piece.... On this 1st day of Kwanzaa (a period of cultural celebration) I am reminded of the vibrant and colorful fabrics of Africa. The most amazing patterns and colors come from many and various countries in Africa, many of them having patterns that go back centuries, especially the Ghanaian Kente cloth, a traditional cloth worn by royalty. Patterns and colors are a major form of expression and a medium of communication. What do you think you message when you wear patterned and colorful clothing? I just love demo days. There's something about seeing 'old' go away, knowing it's to be replaced with something new, something timeless. Finally starting this project, a kitchen remodel long planned and we're all ready to go. @beppieseinenmostert . . .

It's Christmas Eve and we're having fun at the Christmas tree. We're so happy that we can be together and also have the grandpuppy here. She simply cannot sit still ..... perhaps she's excited to see what Santa's bringing her too..... Almost Christmas Eve, and many of us are hard at work preparing our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners. Having a space like this is great for preparing and sharing our wonderful traditions and entertaining, don't you think? Today my own kitchen island is covered with flowers and greenery as we place fresh flowers around the home and later today the last of the big prep begins..... @tamilking . . .

Who wouldn't enjoy doing laundry in this spacious laundry room? The cabinets with plenty of storage and with more than enough counter space helps getting the laundry done with relative ease. I'm not much of a laundry gal, but then again, who is? But it sure does help when you have a super laundry to work in. @beppieseinenmostert . . .

There's something to be said for an uncluttered space. The eye can appreciate all the spaces beyond the room you're standing in. I really enjoy spending time in light, open spaces. Are you attached to outcomes? Have you noticed that when you are so focused on the outcome you don't put anything into the effort? Letting go of the energy for our wish for results and outcomes will allow us to receive support, inspiration, opportunities and will align us with the energy of the universe. In an all white house, a pop of surprise in the powder room. With its curved walls and floating vanity, a pop of silver and black backsplash livens up this space. Beautifully thought through with stunning fixtures and accessories. . . .

Do you sometimes think about `what if`? Those `coulda woulda shoulda` moments? Time to face some of them and let them go. While we cannot change the past, we should rather learn from it. Done is done! @beppieseinenmostert . . .

I love providing my clients with a few hidden surprises. This one turned out so well. A very small kitchen was crying out for extra storage and these toe kick drawers were just the answer. I would be happy with the storage opportunities, wouldn't you? @martin.mann.photography . . .

It's Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the message needs to go out to all women to schedule your mammogram. It saves lives. I should know, it saved mine almost 3 years ago. What's not to like about a fantastic ocean view? This kitchen has the most amazing footprint, every angle provides a view out to either the garden or the ocean.
