When the unexpected happens! It's 10:00 AM and I'm just sitting a few blocks down from a 10:15 appointment. Suddenly a guy pulls up next to my taxi in a truck, he gets out, leans into my passenger side window and pretty much says... ... "Hey! ...here is some cash form a few weeks ago, i didn't have enough to tip you and wanted you to have this" He thanked me once again for giving him a ride to work at a time when his truck had been giving him problems. It was not the money but the act of somebody making this kinda effort to express gratitude. Providing service to appreciative guest is such a great feeling... But a driver for hire you are continuously shaking off what can be a daunting image of the public that use car for hire services. This image is created by the unruly heavily intoxicated passengers who's behavior can range from fist fights in your car to broken windows, dents kicked into your vehicle, kids skipping out on payment and the occasional recovery of professional clean charges resulting from a vomit incident. But when our guest show a positive character such as this individual... it reinforces the purpose of the job and reminds me personally that there are still awesome people out there. Working locally and seeing these familiar passengers day in and day out makes having a local business worth all the ups & downs. Thank you Mike M.
