UPDATE - Little Learners Families I hope this finds you well! I miss your kiddos and the daily routine of seeing them, this new normal has been quite an adjustment, as I’m sure all of you are experiencing too I wanted to connect and give an update in regards to the rest of our school year. Without much change to the current restrictions come Monday May 4, I sadly announce officially that Little Learners will NOT be reopening for this school year. ... Under my state license and current state and county restrictions, I could open for essential worker families with my class sizes and increased sanitizing and face masking, however it’s stated from Contra Costa Child Care Council that kids would still be expected to be 6ft apart. As I’m sure you realize, that’s near impossible for preschoolers! And takes away so much of what preschool is about - socializing! I feel it’s the best decision for the safety of my family, with a daughter with a compromised immune system and my respect to the community. I know this is such a sad way to end our year, and we didn’t prepare or know we would end this way before spring break so it’s hard for the kids to understand. Families with kids not returning in Fall: I will be making available my graduation gowns and caps for families to borrow if you would like to take pictures in them for a graduation memory. Please let me know if this is something you’re interested in, and I can arrange a loaner to porch pick up Current/New Potential Families: My summer program is on hold as well. Current restrictions don’t allow kids to mix classes which would be near impossible for summer weeks since families are always allowed to pick and choose days and weeks. I will keep you posted if this changes. 20/21 School Year Registration: I’m still set to open for Fall in August. Registration and tours are on hold but if you’ve reached out already, you’re on my list. Feel free to confirm with me if you aren’t sure! More information will come regarding enrollment. I appreciate your patience, support and love you’ve shown me through this and all school year. I never would have expected to not be able to give them a graduation or a class party to send them off to summer right! Please hug your kiddos for me and send them my love! Best, Ms Sara

Little Learners Families It is always my priority to keep the wellness of the children and hygiene top priority in our preschool. I have been staying informed in regards to COVID-19 and with today’s announcement of a mandatory shelter in place for Contra Costa county effective 12:01 am on Tuesday, March 17 until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, April 7, Little Learners Preschool will be CLOSED after this weeks Spring Break, and resume on April 8. ... This decision wasn’t taken lightly and without concern but find it necessary to follow as I am not classified as a day care and exempt to being an essential business. I also have a daughter with a compromised immune system listed in high risk category so these precautions will hopefully slow the spread so we can go back to having fun in the classroom! INQUIRING/WAIT LIST FAMILIES: This also puts a delay on registration for Summer & Fall preschool and tours won’t be scheduled at this time. I will send out more info and updates as needed!
