Today is International Women’s Day, #IWD2021 and this years theme is #ChooseToChallenge! Let 2021 be the year where we as Women unite in solidarity with each other and with our male counterparts to challenge and remove the inequities and biases that women face on a daily basis. Empowering Women To Rise Leadership Coaching is my signature coaching program in which I individually work with successful women who have been marginalized in their careers but who now #ChooseToChallenge systemic racism and workplace biases in order to be seen, heard and valued as they pursue higher levels of leadership. So, raise your hand and reach out to me (via Messenger) if you’re ready to take on the challenge!! #LisaMeadowsCoaching #ChooseToChallenge #WomenEmpowerment #FemaleLeadership

A new day is dawning for Women of Color breaking through the "Concrete (not glass) Ceiling" in Corporate America. Although she is not the first Black woman to be CEO of a S&P 500 company (credit to Ursula Burns, CEO Xerox in 2009), she is currently the ONLY Black female CEO of a S&P 500 company!! Congratulations and thank you for demonstrating that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Matters!! #lisameadowscoaching #pfizerproud #womenempowerement #womenempoweringwomen #diversitymatters #diversityequityandinclusion

2020 was a year of unimaginable challenges and change - a pandemic that forever altered our appreciation of the simple luxuries of everyday life and learning how to stay alive, to the health and safety of our family and friends, to redefining the meaning and concept of "work-life balance or imbalance", to dealing with the racial injustices in our society and having difficult and sensitive conversations with friends and co-workers. And still, some things have not changed. If y...ou are no longer willing to accept the status quo, the implicit organizational biases based on your gender and/or race, the marginalization of your career and accomplishments, the barriers to advancing your career-make 2021 the year of Achieving Your Greatest! My boutique consulting practice provides personalized leadership and career coaching services that empower ambitious women and people of color. I help them unlock their innate power and potential to advance their careers, increase their impact and visibility as influential leaders and achieve greatness! I have always known my purpose in life is to serve and uplift others. I have been fortunate to do so throughout my professional career as a corporate recruiter and talent advisor seeking out top industry talent, especially diverse talent, and working with them to confidently communicate their expertise, value and worth. Although I have been coaching leaders and candidates for more than 20 years, 3 years ago I officially began the 2nd chapter in my life of service - Lisa Meado...Continue reading

When given the opportunity, or volunteering, to take on "stretch assignments", I encourage my coaching clients to do so as a means of influencing how senior leaders perceive them and being more visible to senior leaders - all of which reinforces their value and contributions to the organization and their readiness to step into a role that goes beyond the one they are currently in. The key though is for my clients to determine if these assignments provide the high-visibility they are seeking, or will they actually be "stretched thin" with little to no added benefit to their careers. This article provides a checklist for when to diplomatically say no to extra assignments. # # #lisameadowscoaching #leadershipcoaching #careercoaching #coaching #careers #leadership
