This week @thehillstreetcountryclub and Linksoul present a Humanity Showers collaboration. @humanityshowers teamed up with Lived Experiences and local organizers to bring awareness to our local homeless, and their stories. Photographer @jordanverdin has spent years photographing and having conversations with homeless Osiders, who live within a 1 mile radius from our Linksoul and HSCC space. He’d always ask to take their portrait, and share their story. All with different stor...ies and backgrounds, he found the one major commonality was the need for access to the basics. Jordan, his friend Oscarin, and their partners raised money to create @humanityshowers , a mobile shower unit that provides free showers to different locations around north county San Diego. Now with multiple shower trailers, they hope to provide more homeless with daily showers, and to keep growing, including a mobile washer/dryer unit. These portraits are on display in our @linksoullab gallery space through Tuesday, April 20th. In conjunction, a a Homeless/Mental Health Expo is on tap each day in the gallery space as well, Stories from The Streets. ART SHOW // The @linksoullab and @thehillstreetcountryclub are proud to present the next art exhibition The Re-Use Project. Opening Reception is this Saturday, August 1st, 1pm-7pm! ** The Re-Use Project includes a series of panel discussions and an in-house visual art exhibition utilizing recycled materials as a representation of what single-use plastics are doing to this planet, and our impact as humans through art in order to raise awareness on the ongoing pollution ...issue and becoming a more sustainable society **We are making health and safety a priority and only 5 guests will be allowed in the gallery at a time for 10-15 minute increments in order to safely observe the art works.
