As we are entering Holy Week which culminates in Resurrection Sunday, we are excited to announce that this Thursday April 9th at 7 PM we will have a very special virtual Maundy Thursday Service which will include Worship, Communion & Footwashing. Check out the details below! Our Maundy Thursday Service will be through the digital platform Zoom. We will also be streaming the Bible Study through the Live Video option in our LGF Facebook Group. While we cannot meet corporately our Footwashing Service, we still encourage you to have this special Footwashing moment of service and love in your home. We encourage you to wash the feet of the folks you live with or invite one person over to participate in foot washing (if you are comfortable with that). If you live alone, our Pastor & his fiancé would be happy to visit you for foot washing as we are still allowed to gather in very small groups. We will take appropriate precautions to keep you and our Pastor safe. If possible, this Foot Washing Moment in your home should happen around 6:00 PM on Thursday so that by the time it is complete, you can join our Zoom Bible Study for a special Maundy Study Virtual Service at 7 PM. COMMUNION At the end of the Virtual Service, we will be taking Communion as a community. Communion is the symbolic liturgical practice of eating some type of bread (crackers, rice cakes etc.) and drinking the fruit of the vine (wine, juice, grapes, water) as a reminder and celebration of Jesus' death and resurrection. We encourage you to prepare a Communion for yourself, your family, and have it nearby during our Zoom Service so that when it is time to take communion, we can all take it together. Remember, the elements do not have to be bread and wine, you can use whatever you have in your home. The most important thing is that we remember and celebrate what Jesus did (and is doing) for us. We believe this is going to be a very special and very uplifting moment for our community and we REALLY hope you will participate fully in our Maundy Thursday Virtual service on April 9th at 7 PM. You may want to make even more special by preparing a nice dinner at around 5 PM and a delicious dessert. You may want to light candles, and even dress up some. Let's make this moment very special.
