Heads up: Two U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 aircraft will conduct training operations at Long Beach Airport on Monday, November 9 through Wednesday, November 11. We anticipate they'll arrive late Monday afternoon (11/9) and depart Wednesday morning (11/11) (all times subject to change). They are significantly louder than aircraft that typically operate at the airport. Due to the unique nature of the mission, military aircraft are exempt from noise regulations, but they will be using noise abatement procedures in the Long Beach area (modified arrival and departure flight profiles and minimum use of afterburners).

We recently marked a major milestone for our Phase II Modernization Program! The slab on grade concrete was successfully placed for the new Checked Baggage Inspection System building, which will replace the temporary facility that is currently in use behind our historic terminal. This milestone marks the completion of the foundation work and the structural steel installation will start shortly!
