Whitney Hicks wrote this. Yeah, she knows what's up. Learn it, live it, love it! Such a GOOD article and worth the click to read. Tough conversation absolutely... does not mean being synonymous with bad conversation. For believers, brothers and sisters in Christ, tough conversations can and SHOULD lead to deeper bonds, greater understanding, and building unity. It is where our hearts stand in maturity and spiritual wellness when we are either on the end of being David or being Nathan that will determine how we respond and react in either circumstance. When I am the David, will I respond with humility and repentance? Will I accept the wisdom being imparted or puff with stubbornness and pride? Will I reject truth or graciously accept it and desire to grow? Will I lean more into truth or more into emotional reaction? When I am the Nathan, will I make the effort to understand the other person? Will I be gracious and patient? Will I temper my words and make it every effort to impart love amidst the struggle? Will the words I say support the Word, and will the intent be for unity and restoration and not selfish gain? We have a responsibility for one another in the body of Christ, and often the most loving action we can ever take with someone is the tough one. Likewise, often the most unloving one we could take is silence or avoidance. But when both parties have their focus on the Father, when both have the greater desire to see unity rather than personal ambition, and when both are open to hear and understand and be humble, true and powerful ministry happens. When we make it about the Lord and not about ourselves, He is praised. I think of the many, many HARD conversations I have had in ministry (let alone general navigation of relationships as a whole). The times when I was the David and had to swallow my broken ego and hurt feelings to accept a wrong doing or misjudgment. Of having to be willing to surrender control and simply be humble enough to hear and understand, and then to repent and repair without grudge holding. To make myself less so that my Jesus can be more. And then the many times I’ve had to be a Nathan (tough to do as someone who hates conflict). But whether it was speaking with a leader or with a student, addressing poor actions or sinful choices or treatments of others, my goal was always for healing and restoring. For Jesus to be glorified. And 98% of the time, whether I and the other was the David or the Nathan, it brought growth and unity and a strength to the relationship. When we did not hold onto bitterness or resentment, embraced and celebrated forgiveness, God was most glorified and honored, and effective ministry unfolded. You WILL be a David. Many times, as we are such fallen people. Be humble. Accept wisdom. Embrace correction. Accept that you are just as subject to having blind spots in your life as anyone else. Repent, Forgive. And place the Father on the throne and not yourself. You WILL be called to be a Nathan. Many times, as we will always be doing ministry with fellow fallen people. Be gentle. Be loving. Be humble and gracious even if the words are hard or the subject uncomfortable. And place the Father on the throne, and not yourself. Thank You, Jesus, for Your Grace for me when I am the David. Thank You for the opportunity to repent, restore, and grow. Thank You for the Nathans You send in my life, even though I am stubborn. Help me, Jesus, when I have to be the Nathan. Temper my heart and let it be Your Word and Your truth that shines. Give me courage to wade into difficult waters. Let the correct words come and let it come with gentleness and true love of a sister in Christ. We see the love and commitment of those around us - and we see the love and commitment we have for others - by what is said when what needs to be said is something tough to say.

What are the two things we all need in the wake of 2020 and the entry of 2021? Jesus and hope!
What does the world need more than anything in the wake of 2020 and the entry of 2021? Jesus and hope. Finding both of them is more interesting than we probably realize.

What is your legacy?
When God's truth isn't our foundation, whatever our foundation is begins to reveal itself.
Legacy Church, Let's join together in prayer today for our Healthcare workers and system, for those who are sick, for those who have experienced loss, and for those in need. Downey's Mayor shared today that Los Angeles County hospitals increasingly near necessary rationing of care due to capacity. The Lord is good and above all things! We will rejoice and praise Him even in this time to show the world the love of God!
What’s happening in DC is awful. What’s happening on social media is just as awful. All summer people who have supported protests and riots are looking at this and calling it out of line and atrocious. While people who spent the summer calling protests and riots terrorism, are looking at this as merely freedom of speech and the right to assemble. Some are looking at today’s actions as an attempt at a coup, or a move to overthrow the government, while six months ago they appla...uded the boldness of CHAD/CHAZ as it pushed back against the government, and cheered those brave enough to either push police officers out of their precinct houses, or lock them in their precinct houses. This is why I’ve become much more postmodern in my middle age, or at least much more Pascalian. Rational is one of the least appropriate words that could be used to describe humanity. We want power, leverage, dominance, we want our team to win at all costs, and we will use whatever means of emotional, political, intellectual, or sociological manipulation necessary to achieve that goal. The pandemic, the recession, identity politics, the media, and social media have all exacerbated this feature of humanity to the point that we have a hard time coming to the realization that this defect applies not only to others but to ourselves as well. Yet acknowledging this fact and trying to set aside, or reign in, our passions as much as possible is the only way to fix the insane turmoil that we currently are calling Wednesday. - Dr. Sam Welbaum

How should a Christian respond to the woes of life? With three words... IT IS WELL. As we begin a new series in the wreckage of 2020, we look to the lives of Old Testament heroes including David, Daniel, Abram, and Solomon, to discover how it is well when we fail, when we are alone, when we move, and when we are obscure. No matter what the next season brings, IT IS WELL.
Legacy Church and Everybody Else, We have an opportunity on this day to pray and to love others. Never have we experienced a year of such internal division. What a blessing to be able to bring unity in Jesus. No matter who you want to win, Jesus has already won. He will not be overcome. There is no reason to fear. We have no reason for tears. Jesus is our King if the person we want becomes President. Jesus is our King if the person we don't want becomes President. America is ...the place Jesus has placed us to shine His light. We are not here to contribute to the darkness of the world. 1 Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. Be encouraged and know that while political involvement is of great importance for our world, nation, and lives, it is not so important that we have room to be divided over our preferences in the church. If Donald Trump is elected, let us love one another. If Joseph Biden is elected, let us love one another. If someone voted for a candidate different than who you voted for, let us love one another. If anyone can't do this, they don't know Jesus or His love. Beware of those saying, "You have to be like me." The only person we need to be like is Jesus. 1 Corinthians 1:11 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. Legacy Church welcomes all who desire to encounter Jesus, from the farthest right, to the farthest left, to everything in between, because without Jesus we are all at the depths of the lowest low. How would Jesus have us vote? For the policies that best align with biblical policies so we can worship the true King freely. At the end of the day, Jesus will place the candidate we deserve, so let us be a people who deserve a blessing and not a curse. "Lord Jesus, grant Legacy Church the peace to be a people who reflect your unity in this time of division. Let our love be great for those different than us. Let our hope be strong in the provision of Christ. Allow our President to be one who will fall on his knees before you, and lead the nation toward you. Extend your love to all candidates and bring solace. We love you Jesus. Amen." - Pastor Shane
