I would like to congratulate Amir Tomas who received his 1st Dan recognition last night. Amir has been with us for quite a long time and truely is deserving of his new rank. Even though he is now in college his plans are to continue with us.Virus no virus, along with college and social activities are taking a back seat to his passion. Keep up great work because you are a wonderful inspiration to others.

Today we let some of the children celebrate the spirit of Halloween!!!! The virus and masks, the smiles under all these circumstances makes everything right!

Took is picture this morning. This is my Mommie class. Not all are mommies so need to make that clear. They are tough tolerant consistant. The progress is fantastic. I see it more and more every session. 3x per week and to the person hardly ever miss a training day! Taehee is now going on a year now and has never missed a date. I really enjoy them and am so proud of all of them!!!

Great news we have finally launched our new website!!!!! What an effort, kind of like Murphy`s law if it can go wrong it did. But at last the result was worth the effort. Julia Lohman started the project then through various versions Oscar and Nader Attar took and ran with it. They did a great job. They are still tweeking it and a vast improvement from what it was (my old version which I did) to where it is today a huge improvement. Check it out! Today was upper Dan marker test. A marker test is a pre test and is NOT a final test. These 4 canidates demonstrated all the Palgwe forms today along with a few upper Dan poomsaes. So in total were 10 poomsaes today. They were sharp. They up held the standard Leejon expects of their Black Belts. The journey to final upper Dan test is still always off however they are on right path. Good job gentlemen....... LEEJON Go Go Go.........below is one of the poomsaes they did today ,not one of the best examples but a good showing all in all.

Keep an eye out for detials!!!!! We are planning upper dan marker test and red belt marker tests this month separate from normal testing. These dates will be announced in all classes and is marked on event calender. These test dates are critical and can not be made up. Speaking of upper dan testing. We have 4 canidates to test for 3rd dan testing this year. Our black belt testing along with upper dan testing are extremely difficult. We pride our selves on having a high standard. No garuntees of promotion. These 4 canidates are definitely worthy, one candidate is suffering from a nagging injury and the other canidates voted unanimously to postpone testing date until all canidates are healty, this is in true spirit of taekwondo I could not be more proud of them!

I find it funny how children are able to manipulate parents. Let me explain. During our business recovery after lock down most business are motivated to adhere to CDC guidelines ie. Social distancing, sanitizing disinfecting every aspect of their business. I for one feel more comfortable in our environment because we at Leejon go way beyond requirements and are seriously concerned about health and welfare of our custimors. The wearing of masks is the new normal. It is smart it is safer and every aspect of every day life can be obtained. Yet parents ask yes "ask" their children if wearing a mask and returning to TKD would be possible for them. Of course children take the obvious choice. Yet wearing a mask and say going shopping, going out in public a child can and will wear a mask all day long , no problem?

In these tough times the wheel keep moving. This being said one of our members of the Leejon family are attempting to open up a restaurant. Kyle Kim's (advanced juniors class) parents are opening Korean food restaurant in the Bernal shopping center near Lucky`s in between Greek food and 5 star pizza. They should be open for business up and coming week stay tuned! These people are real good people. Kyle's Mom is a fantastic cook. She has cooked for us on several occasions an...d everytime has been an absolute joy. The name of the restaurant is Hankki ( ONE MEAL). If you are in the neighborhood please stop in and show your support. Tell them you are proud members of the Leejon family. We take care of our own. On another siimular note yet same subject our school has several private contractors associated with our families. If plan on having some work done let's support each other I personally prefer to get work done from some one I know. Ray Ongoleia our plumbing expert already has done work for the Kim's last night! Awesome job! Just let us know what you are looking for and let's see if we know some one who can help the LEEJON way.

Our mommie`s class keeps chugging along. Mommies are TOUGH!!! Period!!!! They are consistant loyal and tolerate my demands of them. Hats off to you all, while others make excuses these mommies make strides to move forward!

Congratulations to Hemanth Nandakumars who was awarded his 1st Dan black belt last night. He and 4 others tested quite a while ago prior to the shut down. Hemanth was one of the 1st students to return to us day one after reopening. He is very genuine, passionate and serious about TKD. As most know our program is difficult to say the least while now adding new requirements like masks and a new format he never blinked an eye. Like all true martial artist "Never lose site of your goals no matter what obsticals pop up on your journey. And last but not least no excuses! Cheers!

We sanitize our floors daily and provide hand sanitizer, temperature measurements, masks,sanitizing wipes, student distancing, and limit class sizes in order to ensure students are safe, and get a highest level training experience we can offer.
