This Saturday, Leadership opened its doors for our Open House for prospective students. Our student volunteers introduced visiting families to teachers and provided information about their experience in high school.
This week, LHS Board members and community members supported 24 seniors with editing and revising college essays. Seniors felt the workshop was helpful and the facilitators gave important feedback. This is Leadership.
In 2007, Leadership started holding "Family Meetings" so that the focus was on the student, rather than traditional Parent-Teacher Conferences. This week, nearly all our families attended their first family meeting of the year to set goals and identify support needed to reach their scholar's goals. It was great to see families on site all week. Shout out to our Advisory program and Advisors for making the school to family connection strong.
I like math. I like it when I understand it. Jefry is making it happen in Algebra 2.
The Math Department is ready to support scholars many times during the week. Developing a habit of going to office hours is important to learn content and be college ready.
Chemistry teacher, Jonny Chin, joins the many incredible teachers who have been part of the Exploratorium’s Teacher Institute. He is excited for the community he will build, the ways he will grow, the activities he’ll learn, and the learning that will happen. Our scholars will benefit from Mr.Chin’s experience. Look at this teacher joy!
