Church has been, and always will be, about the people. We are grateful for the opportunity to safely gather outdoors as God’s people in the Tenderloin today. Staff, students and members of the community lifting up the name of Jesus together.

COMMUNITY There is a unity found in the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12 talks about the body of Christ having many different members, and wow it is so fun to watch that passage come alive as we see different students come to this place and use what God gave them personally for his Kingdom. Students inevitablely grow to love this community and they get to use their gifts to love their neighbors. Living in community isn’t always easy and living in the TL certainly isn’t popular but we know Jesus calls us to things that are hard and avoided.

The 9 month term is officially underway! These ladies have officially completed week 1 and we know the next 9 months are going to be challenging but filled with immense growth nonetheless. What a blessing it is to walk alongside them on this journey. @ San Francisco City Impact

we are getting pumped for our next round of students moving in this weekend but first we want to highlight these two beautiful women from the summer program who will be sticking around! ANALAURA This sweet girl is going to join us for the 9 month term of Leadership school since Stanford is conducting classes online. This summer she discovered her love and passion for teaching and believes that being here helping the Spanish speaking families is the the next step towards her calling. HANNAH this wise woman is an answer to prayer here at City Impact! She is planting roots here in the Tenderloin as she is co-teaching 5th and 6th grade at SFCA. God is using these powerful women for his Kingdom here in the TL @ San Francisco City Impact

Graduation is a big day for our students. And we made it even bigger by making each of them a Hamilton character. We are thankful for there time here with us this summer! We also appreciate all their hard work and commitment to our community. We now commission them from @sfcityimpact to go and do likewise in their own communities. Thank you for this season of life together! @ City Impact Leadership School

The three major topics students focused on in class this summer were the book of Psalms, Biblical Justice, and most recently they went though the gospels to learn about spiritual authority and our call to discipleship. We don’t want this generation to grow up seeking a generic idea of justice but rather God’s idea of justice. Psalm 106:3 says it best, blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times. Hearing the students discuss these topics and even apply them to their day to day lives was so encouraging! @ San Francisco City Impact

GROWTH The past 8 weeks have flown by but oh how these students have grown. We have seen them grow closer to each other, to this community, and to Jesus. Students, this is our prayer for you in the words of Paul that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ - to the glory and praise of God. It took radical trust in God to spend your summer serving alongside us and we don’t take that lightly

Meet Noah! He is 19 years old and is from Long Beach, California. Here is what Noah has to say about the program, You’re planting seeds in a community you might not ever see grow but don’t ever be discouraged. The work that you're going to do here is going to be amazing but don’t leave it here, take all the experience and love you’ve gained and pour it into your community and the world! We are thankful to have Noah in our family this summer 2020.

Meet Jillian! She is 20 years old and is from Dallas, TX. Here is what Jillian has to say about her time here in the Tenderloin, God didn’t create man to be alone, so what I love about the Tenderloin is how open everyone here is to friendship. Inspite of the virus, I’ve had so many deep, inspirational, hilarious, & unexpected conversations with unsuspecting individuals, and I’m crazy grateful for that. We are thankful to have Jillian in our family this summer 2020.

Wednesdays are crucial for the health and longevity of our staff and students! Our students spend the morning in prayer and journaling to process their time in the Tenderloin and in the afternoon come together with the rest of the SFCI family for fellowship and Bible study. We love these days of spiritual connection for the church in the Tenderloin! UPDATE we are offering an TUITION DISCOUNT FOR THIS UPCOMING season! 1 month off, if you apply before August 15! @ City Impact Leadership School

Meet Hope! She is 19 years old and is from Dallas, TX. Here is what Hope would say to someone who is interested in the program, To come in with no expectations except two things. One: Expect to be tired, and be okay with that. God will sustain you. Two: the bonds you’ll make here will be unlike anywhere you’ve been. Your team will become family. That means that sometimes they’ll drive you up a wall just like a brother or sister would but you’d still do anything for them. We are thankful to have Hope in our family this summer 2020.
