COVID has impacted everyone. It has affected how our kids learn, how businesses are being ran, how we shop and it's caused a lot of evets to be cancelled or to ...be held virtually. Because of COVID, the Junior Livestock Sale is being done a little, ok, A LOT, differently this year. Many of the students showing may not have buyers for their livestock, so the people and organizations that benefit from the livestock auction are missing out. Every year, meat from the auction is donated to local charities such as -The Blessing Corner -St Vincent DePaul -Catholic Charities - St. Francis Church -The Mission at Kern -Bakersfield Homeless Shelter Local student, EJ Ferrell, came up with a solution and got the ball rolling for those who would want to donate their animal to these charities. He will also be donating his so that our local charities will still be able to serve our community! Check it out!
