Long Beach State Hockey

On behalf of the LBSU Hockey team we hope that all of our fans and their families are healthy and in good spirits. Due to current circumstances related to Covid-19 the University has decided to postpone our 2020-2021 season. This decision was made to help preserve the health of our Student Athletes, Staff, and fans. We are disappointed that we will not be taking the ice this fall but we are hopeful that we will be able to play starting in the spring. As of today July 23rd we... are expecting to resume normal team operations at the start of the next calendar year. And are hopeful we will be able to play a condensed season in the spring, we are also hopeful that our fans will be able to return to the rink and support the team. We would like to thank all of the Beach faithful for their support, and we hope to return to the Ice as soon as possible. Go Beach! Our offseason skate on March 28th has been postponed due to rink closures. We are planning on rescheduling for a date in April if rinks are open by then. If you have any questions please reach out to us at [email protected]

LBSU Ice Hockey will hosting its first offseason recruitment skate on Saturday March 28th at the Rinks Lakewood Ice from 11:30-1pm. After a 5-1 win last night over UCSB the beach is headed back to the WCHC Championship game!! It’s a rematch of last year, the Beach will take on CSUN at 6:50 in Artesia! #gobeach

This Saturday 2/2/19 at 7:30 will be our annual charity game!!!! This year the team is staying on campus partnering with the Beach Pantry!! The Beach Pantry is an on campus program aimed to help student in need by providing food, school supplies, toiletries, and other basic living needs. We’re asking for donations to the Beach Pantry at our game, items to donate include but are not limited to non perishable foods, travel sized soaps/toothpaste, and school supplies. Anyone who brings an item gets into the game at a discount, $2 for student/staff/children/veterans and $5 for general admission! #gobeach

Weekend Recap!! The Beach extended its win streak with two more wins last weekend! Defeating new WCHC team UC Santa Barbara 9-3 Friday night and long time rival CSUF Saturday night 7-4! Friday night the Beaches special teams where on display with the team scoring 4 short handed goals! Adam Moroz had another strong performance in net and the team smothered the Gauchos throughout the game outshooting them 51 to 21! Saturday the boys went on the road and got a win! The Beach got... out to an early lead but the Titans battled back with the Beach leading 4-3 after 2 periods. The Beach rallied in the 3rd winning the game 7-4!! Tyler Gealy picked up his 3rd win of the season and rookie defensemen Brandon Hoeksema picked up the GWG!! The Beach is now 8-3-1 on the season and is tied for 1st in the WCHC! The Beach goes 2-0 on the weekend! USC didn't forfeit this time but still took the L. The Beach scored early and often winning the game 8-3! Saturday night the Beach went up to play the defending WCHC champion matadors and came home with a Win! The Beach lead the way from puck drop and where able to hold off the matadors for the 4-3 Win! The Beach is now 6-3-1 on the season and 3-1 in conference! The Beach looks to extend their win streak next weekend with a home game Friday night against UC Santa Barbara at 9:15 and an away game Saturday night against CSUF at 9:15. #gobeach
