Hello LBJCC members, family and friends, We have received wonderful comments from our meal drive-thru event last weekend and Shinobu Japanese BBQ restaurant will be back for our 2nd meal drive-thru event on Saturday May 30th. For those of you who may have missed the first one, the food was really good and the pickup service was safe and quick. We were also able to support one of our own Westsider LB families, the Harada's, and also the Yamada's of LB during this difficult t...ime on restaurants. It was also a nice way of reconnecting with many of you and seeing your smiles (even behind your masks)! When: Saturday, May 30th from 4:00-5:00 PM at LBJCC (or our restaurant location 3:00pm) Where: Long Beach Japanese Cultural Center 1766 Seabright Ave Long Beach (or at our restaurant at 3pm if you live closer to Westminster or would just like your food earlier. Sign ups are on the right side of the order sheet for in-store pickups.) Menu: Family Pack (for 4 adults) - $60 - Kalbi Boneless Short Rib - Chicken Katsu - Strawberry Spinach Salad w/ Candied pecans and Strawberry Vinaigrette - Nori Furikake Corn (off the cob) - Japanese Potato Salad - Pickled Daikon Tsukemono - White Rice Sides/Add-ons: (Can be ordered with or without family pack) - $10 - Bacon Fried Rice - $10 - Garlic Butter Shrimp - $5 - Green Tea Cheesecake (2 Small Slices) How It Works: 1. CLICK HERE to place your order and pick-up time. Pick-up times will be in 5 min. increments to ensure social distancing. Cutoff time for orders will be Friday at 11 AM. 2. When arriving for pick-up, you will drive up to the pick-up booth, provide your name, and the food will be placed in your vehicle ‘drive-thru’ style. Please Enter the main gate and then Exit out the back right gate which is around the classrooms on the right hand side. 3. For payment: Place cash in an envelope and leave it in a designated location in your vehicle (i.e. backseat, trunk, etc.) to ensure a touchless transaction. The Long Beach Japanese Cultural Center Temporary Closure Due to the guidance provided by the state of California, the city of Long Beach, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) the LBJCC has closed all of its operations. No groups will be meeting there until the LBJCC Board of Directors, following the advice of the entities listed above, decides that danger from the Corona Virus (COVID 19) is such that operations can be re-started. As... we try to do our part in helping to stop the spread of the Corona Virus, we remain committed to both the community that we serve and the community at large. We will be updating this message from time to time so check back with us. In the meantime, stay home if you can and wash your hands. LBJCC Board of Directors
