The Jury is out. We argued today and they are deliberating. I think that things went well and he will be found not guilty of the conspiracy to commit murder.

Does the bail system in the United States punish poor people? A new study shows that it punishes poor people by keeping them in jail pre-trial unnecessarily, sometimes costing them their jobs and their residences. Bail is not supposed to be punative. It is supposed to ensure that a criminal defendant shows up in court. In our justice system everyone is presumed innocent but when it comes to bail, everyone is assumed guilty. http://www.nytimes.com//when-bail-is-out-of-defendants-rea

New 5 Star Review: "Mr. Adam Pearlman represented me for a bizarre restraining order against me (Dec 2014-May 2015). I had a very positive experience with him and his law office. Throughout several court hearings, Mr. Pearlman guided me step-by-step for preparations and court appearances in an organized fashion. His counsellings and directions in preparation for the hearings were instrumental and uplifting. Mr. Pearlman made strong/persuasive arguments in the court against the petitioner's attorney and in his closing statement in an articulate manner. As a result of his performanc/guidance, my responose and my witnesses's testimony we won the case decisively. I will recommend him to a friend. Kay"

New 5 Star Review: "My particular case involved numerous negotiations between Mr. Pearlman, the Judge, and the District Attorney, lasting over a number of months. There was a huge difference of opinion between what the District Attorney wanted to settle on and what Mr. Pearlman was willing to accept on my behalf. Mr. Pearlman was persistent, diligent, and highly focused on my case. The final outcome was much more than satisfactory. It fact, I would say it was an outstanding... resolution to the entire situation. In my opinion, Mr. Pearlman is quite personable and very easy to talk with. On the other hand, Mr. Pearlman is not a timid attorney; I was quite impressed with both his willingness and ability to 'engage in battle' for the client (me). And, in the end, isn't that what we are really looking for in an attorney. I didn't randomly choose Mr. Pearlman to represent me in Santa Barbara. It was his experience profile that sold me, including his graduating with honors from a top law school (George Washington University Law School), his 9 years as a Senior Deputy District Attorney in the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, and his proven experience as a trial attorney. That's a pretty impressive resume. In my particular situation, I believe Mr. Pearlman's background made all the difference in the world. In summary, he is a highly qualified, skilled attorney, that will do everything in his power to see that his client gets the best possible outcome." See more

Two convicted murderers escaped from a New York prison Sunday using power tools to cut their way out. The two men somehow obtained power tools and cut through the metal at the back of their cells. They then broke down a brick wall and then cut into a metal drain pipe. Once in the pipe they crawled through it and came out a manhole in a neighborhood street. http://www.nytimes.com//2015/06/08/nyr/prison-escape.html

An man was arrested in Santa Barbara yesterday for chasing his neighbor with an ax and subsequently destroying the neighbors house with said ax. Rudy Callaso had been in a feud with his neighbors for years over trees and other issues. Mr. Callaso accused his neighbor, Mr. Najera of poisoning him and his trees. Mr. Callaso went back in his garage and retreived an ax. Then he chased Mr. Najera back into Mr. Najera's house. Mr. Najera got away but Mr. Callaso hacked up Mr. Najera's house. http://www.independent.com//dispute-between-neighbors-tur/
