We are at a unique time in history. On the one hand, we are being told exactly what we can and cannot do. On the other hand, the old rules no longer apply and the new rules haven't yet been written. You can feel the tension. How can a publicly traded company fail to survive right now in much the same way as a tiny "local" shop? How can a tiny local shop thrive when a brand with 100 years of history and billions in revenue closes its doors? The answer to those two questions is... complex and layered, but at the core of each are rules. What can you do and what can't you do? Who's telling you can or cannot? Being an #entrepreneur is not easy. It takes mental toughness and creativity to be successful, even in the "good" times. When difficulties surface, like Covid, our job is even more difficult. How do we pivot and make the right choices during these times of chaos? Part of the answer is in looking at our strengths and designing plans around those strengths. It may not be easy, but that's a tangible way to pivot right now. Don't ask yourself what business you are in...instead, ask yourself what are the strengths of the business you have (or your own strengths, if that makes sense). The more you dig into this question, the more likely you are to find ways to pivot around fewer customers, lower engagement, less sales, etc. I know you can do it.
