A few pictures from my own sweet daughter's wedding!

A NOTE TO BRIDAL PARTIES: DO NOT ORDER YOUR DRESSES FROM ANY OF THE NUMEROUS ON-LINE STORES. I know that price tag seems too good to be true. Believe me it is too good to be true. They are badly made (look much cheaper than those wonderful pictures they show) and the fit is usually HORRIBLE. Alterations for these dresses often run really high because of the amount of work to get them to look half-way decent. DON'T DO IT! I am almost at the point where I will refuse to work on them.

Just back from my nieces wedding in Ireland. (Isn't she lovely!) I made the bridesmaids' dresses; rolled them up; put them in my suitcase; took them over, and voila! The bridesmaids tried them on the morning of the wedding. They are those versatile s-t-r-e-t-c-h-y tie-them-any-way-you-want type dresses.

FINALLY! Here are the pictures of the bridal gown (designed by Kate Emerson; made by Laura Quene and modeled by Jenny Peralta) at the Lombard Historical Society 80's fashion show! Note the sleeves: Jenny had them on for the 80's look and then "TORE" them off for a contemporary look.

Just had the most fantastic day at the GLASS SLIPPER PROJECT. 600+ girls got prom dresses, shoes and accessories today, with the help of hundreds of volunteers who make this organization awesome! There are still 2 more opportunities in the Chicago area to attend the event: April 12 and April 26. See http://www.glassslipperproject.org for details and start thinking about prom dresses you may want to donate in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch

Priscilla's prom is this month! She wanted to keep the train on her prom dress (left) so we made her this cute bustle (right).
