Carp season is here!!!!

Insane day today with Shelley and her dad! I’ve never been closer to jumping in the drink to land a fish! 15 minutes into the day, Chat comes tight on a LARGE fish. With the 7wt maxed out, we somehow scoop the big girl with my brand new Fishpondusa net. 9 pounds on the boga grip.This is the biggest bass on the fly my boat has ever seen. Stoked! Shelley got a nice kicker fish as well!

In my opinion Pacific bluefin tuna are the absolute hardest gamefish to land on a fly rod. They are reluctant to take a fly, and when they do they will put a hurting on you and your equipment. This is an eat I’ll never forget. Fishing with Randall Norris on his 23’ Parker, this 100 pound fish CRUSHED a fly stripped on the surface. We did not get this fish to the boat.
