Your support has been humbling, thank you. In these difficult times, we are seeing the best come out in both our communities and our employees. Those of you coming in have had many kind words of encouragement and support and we appreciate that greatly. We are trying to keep our doors open offering food to-go during these challenging times and it is not business as usual, it’s not about profit. Our overriding concern is for the health and welfare of our community and to let you know what safeguards we have put in place for all of our safety, peace of mind, and an attempt for a bit of normality in these turbulent times. When first alerted to a pandemic situation, we implemented a number of safeguards: - We follow CDC guidelines and will close certain tables from time to time to allow more space between. - We are following recommendations from our health officials as ...they become available. - Our ongoing practice of handwashing and hand sanitizing has moved to a whole new level for both our employees and you, our customers, now with even more hand sanitizers available in key locations. - We sanitize and disinfect menus, tables, and chairs in between seatings. - No one sick is allowed to work and each is paid sick pay as directed by the State if required to not work. If ever we seem short-staffed or you feel inconvenienced by the fact that empty tables are not seated, we appreciate that you will understand and be patient knowing that this affects us all and together we are doing our very best in what may prove to be a real test over the next few weeks and even months. In an effort to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases produced by food waste, Las Olas is working with @TheCompostGroup to compost food waste. The benefit of this removal from the landfill waste stream could be equivalent to taking up to 16 passenger vehicles off the road for a year. In February, we diverted 5,194 pounds of food waste from landfills for compost.
