Our overriding concern is for the health and welfare of our community and to let you know what safeguards we have put in place for all of our safety, peace of mind, and an attempt for a bit of normality in these turbulent times. When first alerted to a pandemic situation, we implemented a number of safeguards: - We follow CDC guidelines and will close certain tables from time to time to allow more space between. - We are following recommendations from our health officials as ...they become available. - Our ongoing practice of handwashing and hand sanitizing has moved to a whole new level for both our employees and you, our customers, now with even more hand sanitizers available in key locations. - We sanitize and disinfect menus, tables, and chairs in between seatings. - No one sick is allowed to work and each is paid sick pay as directed by the State if required to not work. If ever we seem short-staffed or you feel inconvenienced by the fact that empty tables are not seated, we appreciate that you will understand and be patient knowing that this affects us all and together we are doing our very best in what may prove to be a real test over the next few weeks and even months. We are doing everything possible so that you can continue to enjoy your favorite restaurant, Las Olas. Take good care of yourself and act responsibly. In an effort to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases produced by food waste, Las Olas is working with @TheCompostGroup to compost food waste. The benefit of this removal from the landfill waste stream could be equivalent to taking up to 16 passenger vehicles off the road for a year. In February, we diverted 5,194 pounds of food waste from landfills for compost.

Happiness comes in waves. Did you know both Las Olas locations are @Surfrider sanctioned ocean-friendly restaurants? That means: Our to-go containers, dinner napkins and paper towels are biodegradable and made from unbleached recycled paper. Take-out plates, drinking cups and straws are made from 100% compostable material and our cutlery is made from plant starch material. Buster Biofuels recycles our cooking oil to help fuel local school buses. No chlorine-ba...sed cleaning products. Glass, tin and cardboard recycling since the early 80’s. Filtered tap water and the straws are happily served but on request only. Water and the energy used to wash the glass and make the ice if not consumed is a serious waste.
