Happy Monday let the strange times continue Our industry has been fighting to be heard and seen the last few months with restrictions still firmly set in place. My heart has been heavy with what’s to come for my business and where I see myself within the next few months that follow. I’ve experienced lots of ups and downs with many tears shed. I’ve spent some time away from socials trying to keep the negative thoughts from flowing through my mind. I’ve been doing my best ...to not obsess over our immediate influx of news whilst grieving the loss of my business. I’ve thought many times about giving up. Why keep pushing forward when I feel like the world is pushing back? Not supporting small businesses? How are we suppose to manage this idea about re-opening, when what I provide is not a necessity? The election, the economy... etc. The questions are never-ending. I’ve learned that most times we don’t get answers to questions we feel like we deserve a right to have. Nor do we tend to really feel relief when we have them. The real resolution is how we can answer those questions ourselves and look inward to find peace with the unknown. I’m continuing to honor the space at which I sit, with each day that passes. However messy or put together it may be & I ask you to do the same. Be gentle with yourself Providing services to my clients the last five years has been some of the most rewarding experiences. I have spent countless hours with many women from all walks of life. Learning, admiring strength and resilience, sharing, and listening with you all has taught me more about myself than I ever could of imagined possible. You all are a huge part of the woman I am today. My continuous hope is that the connections I’ve built are strong enough to withstand this hardship we are all enduring. That when the time comes, I’ll be able to open my doors with certainty that I can preserver through whatever this world has tested me with. My lovely clients, I wanted to share an alternative product that might be our saving grace while we are waiting to be reunited. Some of you may know that I work hand in hand with a company called IMAGE Skincare. I use their products in my facial and peel services. DIY Herbal Steam with Echinacea and Peppermint What is an herbal steam? Herbs, have been around for centuries. Many herbs have multiple benefits to help our bodies do what they do best! Steam can help to alleviate presser in our chest, lungs, and airways. Combined with your herbs you get medicine. ... Throw a towel over your head and enjoy taking deep, intentional, and concentrated breathes. Not only is this beneficial to our respiratory health, but also OUR SKIN! Oh ya, two in one baby. I pre cleansed my skin before my steam bowl and let it soak up some of the goodness too. Once finished or as the water gets cooler, (about 15-20 mins) I recommend applying a nighttime moisturizer right over your fresh dewy skin. Lock it in there!! The left overs can also be recycled for scrubs, masques, and other lotions or salves. Echinacea has anti inflammatory properties, well known to support your immune system, and can even lower blood sugar levels. Peppermint is extremely beneficial to our respiratory health and digestive system. It can help to calm skin irritations and aide in migraine relief. Enjoy

Quick Update Hi all! As some small businesses and restaurants are slowly opening throughout Ventura County, I wanted to clarify a few things! Salons and Barbershops have also been given the okay to re-open following extremely strict guidelines with detailed plans of how to best service you, the clients. This unfortunately does not mean that Esthetician services fall under that same scope of practice. Services such as waxing, facials, lash extensions, nails, and massage are s...till not permitted to re-open. This is because we are in such close proximity to each other while we are in service and it will be very hard to modify what we do without, well, being all up in each others bid-ness! I will be sure to continue to communicate with you all what my plans are when the time comes to re-open my doors. I have thought of a few ways to make this transition as easy as possible for us all. The best way to get an appointment will be via my online booking site. All of my pre-existing clients (if I was seeing you during the time this started), you will have first priority to a new full set. I will not be accepting new clients until all of you are seen and set. I will be sending out a date and time (& reminders) for when my schedule will become "open" for booking. This way you can schedule what day works best for you and everyone has fair priority. I have completed an online course to refresh all proper sanitization and sterilization techniques. Ill be taking all sheets and blankets off the treatment table to be able to wipe everything down between each client. Masks will be required as will sanitizing hands upon entry. I have been filling my head with a lot of this lately. Or trying to. So much change happening! As some of you have heard, the city of Ventura has given a Stage 3 green light for Estheticians and/or Lash Artists to reopen their doors. Although, some guidelines are making it extremely difficult for me to offer my services. I’m sitting with a lot on my mind yet I keep coming back to this. Mindfulness. Doing everything you do with intention. Purpose. Attention. It’s been a challe...nging process to keep my thoughts together on how COVID has affected my business. The stress has been very much present. I want to make sure I’m doing everything the right and best way I know because well, that’s how I do things and that’s what you all deserve! The best. My best. My worst fear is to open up my doors and have to shut down again. I’ve been working on some really exciting changes these past few months and I’m looking forward to sharing! Guidelines The State of California has finally given service professionals our guidelines to help keep our businesses safe upon returning to work. I wanted to clarify that Ventura County has NOT given us permission to re-open. Ventura County is still actively in Stage 2, which includes the re-opening of dine-in restaurants, shopping, barbershops, and hair salons. From my understanding are considered Stage 3, which is considered a higher risk workplace for personal hospitality... services. After having some time to review the guidelines here is what I found that is most important for us to all understand and comply. What to expect... -Face coverings/masks are REQUIRED. They must cover nose and mouth at all times while in the studio and during service -Sanitizing hands upon entry (this will be provided for you) -Temperature screenings upon entry (contact-less) -Please minimize all personal belongings you're bringing with you (can it be left at home or in the car?) -No food or drinks permitted As for me... I'll be structuring my schedule so I can have plenty of time to comply with all disinfecting techniques between each client and service. Please know that each client will be receiving a full set, this service is at least 2 hours long. I'll be seeing no more than two people per day once my schedule is open for taking appointments. -Gloves will be used during service so I can minimize contact -Mask and Shield covering -Bedding and blankets will be removed and I'll be wiping the treatment table, my active working space, IPAD, and surrounding areas -Tools will be disinfected and undergo sterilization -Single use items Scheduling I'll continue to share when I have a date in mind to open my schedule. I have to ensure that all prevention plans, risk assessments, and documents are in compliance with the city to begin this stage of re-opening. We made it to April! I know I’m still trying to adjust to what the new normal is. I miss working. I miss my clients. I miss lashing. Having the freedom to get up and go. But with that being said, I know this is going to make us better. All of us. I hope that we can reflect back on this time and have something to be proud of. We want time, and here we have it. The ultimate gift that we always want more of. Use it with intention and manifest what life will look like after this is all said and done. We’ve seen the families coming together, tears, laughs, the healing, the support. Be a part in it. Be comfortable with the unknown of what’s to come and how long we will be here. Flashback Friday! (I think it’s Friday lol) If you don’t look back at where you’ve been, it’s hard to appreciate where you are now. This was one of my first lashing set ups and I remember being so proud of myself. I would encourage you all to look back. The spaces you’ve been, how far you’ve grown in your lashing techniques, career, communication, and don’t forget to acknowledge your growth. Sometimes I feel like being in this industry it’s the hustle that keeps us going. I know I often forget to look up and see how far I’ve come in just a short amount of time. Be proud of yourselves! Well, here we are. I know we have all been sending our good thoughts and energy over to the lash gods to help us through this difficult time with our missed appointments. But let's try to use this time to our benefit. How can we maintain our extensions? ... -Keep them SQUEAKY clean! Yep, keep washing them. The more you wash, the more natural oil will wash away and the longer those little babies will hold on for dear life. -But Sarah, they're going every which way. What do I do? Please refrain from picking or pulling, this will do nothing but cause stress on your natural lashes. Try to brush them softly and leave them be as much as possible. The less touching and fiddling the better. -I'm over it Can I safely remove my extensions myself? I wish there was a magic wand to help make that happen, but unfortunately they need to be removed by a professional. Although, if you'd like to try and speed up the process in removing your extensions, you may SOFTLY pat and apply an oil based product on them every night before bed. (I.E. vitamin E oil, Jojoba, refined coconut, olive, castor, etc.) This will help to break the bond over time. This is NOT something that will take all of your extensions off in one sitting. This is just a trick to help speed up the process to let them fall out naturally. -Now what? Take this time to let your lashes relax and enjoy being free! B vitamins can help to promote healthy skin, nails, and hair. I strongly recommend picking some up with your next grocery run. Until we can be reunited again... As more information continues to unfold about the highly contagious COVID-19 virus and the uncertainties of what is to come, all appointments as of March 16th-31st are to be cancelled until further notice. For your safety, and the safety of others, I will start this journey into social distancing. I will continue to do my part in sharing how to maintain the health of your extensions in a safest way possible with our missing appointments. Please know this has not been an easy... decision for me as a small business owner in the service industry. Know that our mutual love for self care is strong. Although, I encourage you all to explore what other ways you can show up for yourself during this difficult time. Facial masks, cooking up some yummy recipes, yoga, gardening, crafting, etc.. Maybe all those things you wish you had the time to do, but never seem to get the chance. As for me, it's time to get creative. No clients means no income. I will do everything in my power to find ways to share tips and tricks on skincare, lashes, self care regimes, mental health, plants, oils, books, and hopefully much more. Your ideas, ways of support, and understanding have already been so helpful in the making of these changes. Thank you kindly.
