Perhaps the final long-distance trip on LA Rail leaves Los Angeles tonight with 16 passengers, 4 of them Dougs. LA to Chicago, Washington DC, New Orleans, and back home.

The last San Diego overnight trip for the private railcar Pacific Sands was reserved for family on a beautiful May weekend. It was bittersweet but filled with a...ppreciation for all of the years Doug and Tracy have shared this experience with so many. Private car Tioga Pass bids a fond farewell to the city of Portland, Oregon, our host for the past three days. A group of enthusiasts joined us for a trip to Winter Rail, a railroad photography exhibition.

Gosh, the SoCal wildfires have been horrendous ... Amtrak has curtailed or cancelled much service on the coast route and that has included the loss of two Vino ...Trains. But if folks still want to "feel the wheels rumblin' 'neath the floor" and enjoy a rail trip to San Diego ... we are running this Saturday (Dec 16). That's right, the regular staff, the mid century ambiance, the great food and fantastic scenery ... all the things you have grown to appreciate on the Vino Train will make a rare run to San Diego ...
