LACP Theatre will continue its 2021 Spring Season in May with the Shakespeare themed comedy "The Bomb-itty of Errors." The play will be presented virtually via zoom on the weekend of May 21-23. An award-winning Ad-Rap-Tation, hip-hop theatre retelling of Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors," the 90-minute show is part play and part rap concert. Refreshingly current but retaining the integrity of the original, it is nothing short of brilliant. Clever writing, rhythmic flow, w...itty musical allusions and intelligent humor... the show is thoroughly entertaining." -- MTV LAPC Theatre's production will be directed by Shaheen Vaaz and will be presented in three FREE, virtual performances on May 21 and 22 at 6pm and May 23 at 2pm. LAPC Theatre presents the third virtual production of its 2020 Fall Season. "Facing Our Truth: Ten-Minute Plays on Trayvon, Race and Privilege" is now viewable for FREE through Sun., Nov. 8 at 2pm. https://youtu.be/tuB03tOpPdY Please note this link is not downloadable and will only be available through Sunday at 2pm. "Facing Our Truth: Six 10-minute Plays on Trayvon, Race, and Privilege" is directed by LAPC Theatre Professor Shaheen Vaaz. These ten-minute plays were first com...missioned by The New Black Fest in response to the killing of Trayvon Martin and the acquittal George Zimmerman. Since that time, public incidents of violence against black men and women have been increasingly exposed. The plays are as diverse in style and point-of-view as their authors, but each play takes a complex and human approach to understanding the dynamics that lead to fear and fracture our nation. The play’s purpose is to incite serious discussion in our collective communities around issues of racial injustice, systemic violence, and white privilege.
