We are taking down the wreaths this week. If you have any Christmas items that need to be picked up, please stop by this week and get them. Thank you!
A family who has been placing the wreaths with us since 2009! John, Judy, Andrew and Naomi - thank you!
Antelope Valley Cemetery District/Lancaster Cemetery crew: Office Assistant, Karla Archuleta; District Manager, Dayle DeBry; and Chris Perez, Groundsman. Missing is Grounds Supervisor, Brent Thompson. Thanks to our staff for their dedication to Wreaths Across America. Brent and Chris pounded all of the wooden stakes that hold the wreaths - over 1,000! Thanks to Kathleen Crowley-Staats for the photograph.
More photos from Wreaths Across America 2020. If anyone has any photos, please let me know and I'll post them. THANKS TO ALL WHO VOLUNTEERED AND ALL WHO SPONSORED WREATHS! We had enough wreaths for all of our veterans - over 1,000!
Thanks to all who sponsored wreaths for our veterans interred at Lancaster Cemetery and thanks to all of the volunteers who came out to help place the wreaths - from the trucking companies who volunteer to bring us the wreaths to those who signed up on the WAA website - it was a beautiful sight . With over 1,000 veterans here, it takes a grateful community to make sure this happens every year! More photos to follow. Thank you everyone!
This is a photo from a few years ago - not today!
We will be doing the wreath placing a bit different this year due to the COVID-19. You must register at the Wreaths Across America website: https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/ Go to Lancaster Cemetery, then "volunteer" and that will direct you to the wreath placing schedule. You MUST sign up via the Wreaths Across America website! Wreaths will be placed Wednesday, December 16 through Saturday, December 19, 2020. We will not be having a ceremony this year. Thank you all ...for understanding and have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season. UPDATE 12/19/2020 - Thanks to all the volunteers who showed up yesterday! Great job! For the volunteers today, Saturday, 12/19/2020, please park on the EAST side of the cemetery! Thank you! See you all at your scheduled time to help! UPDATE 12/15/2020 - PLEASE NOTE: The wreaths will not be arriving in time for placing on Wednesday. I have tried to contact those who have volunteered for December 16. I will post when we receive the wreaths. I hope it's in time for the Thursday volunteers - I'll keep you all posted! UPDATE 12/17/2020: THE WREATHS ARE IN - those who have signed up for Friday and Saturday, please be sure and arrive at the time you signed up for and with the number in your group that you signed up. Due to COVID-19 we are only accepting those who have signed up on the Wreaths Across America website. Parking will be on the West side of the cemetery for the volunteers, but enter at the main gate! Class Photo found in the cemetery. It likely blew off of a grave. We didn't want the photo to become damaged by the water. If you are the owner and would like it returned, please contact our office during business hours. Twentieth St. Elementary School Los Angeles, California 1983-1984... Mrs. Rogers Grade 2 See more

Navy Bell Ringing Ceremony.
We were here this morning to remember and honor the men and women who have served this country in all branches of the military, here at home and in foreign land...s, far away from their families and friends. The flags that have been placed at each veteran’s grave represent our commitment as united Americans to remember the fallen. The flags symbolize our honor to those who have served this great nation. To our children, we want them to understand the freedoms we enjoy today and teach them that these freedoms have not come free, but have come with a great cost. Thank you to all for helping honor our veterans today. See more
Dear Members of the Community, On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Staff of the Antelope Valley Cemetery District, we want to welcome you to our virtual Memorial Day Remembrance. We are so glad that you could be a part of this even though all of us wish that we could be together in body, not just in spirit. We hope that you find this video inspirational and moving. Thank you to the Friends of the Lancaster Cemetery for the making of this video. Thank you to Aerotech New...s for including Lancaster Cemetery in their Memorial Day Virtual Video. Also, many thanks to Congressman Mike Garcia for taking the time to make a special introduction for our virtual Memorial Day Ceremony and for the use of his speech from last year. Be safe and well, and please join us in remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Dave Owens, Chairman of the Board Antelope Valley Cemetery District
