Women's Rights = Human Rights To the women before us, who persisted and resisted, we stand on the shoulders of your achievements. Worldwide #GenerationEquality still has much to accomplish for women and girls everywhere. #WomensHistoryMonth #InternationalWomensDay #AscenderAlPoder
There is importance to celebrating months that honor culture and heritage, but the lived experiences of the Black community in this country require that we go beyond headline prominence. As Shukree Hassan Tilghman argued, "Black History is American History" and we should make endeavors year round to recognize their contributions to and in the American experience.

Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. wishes all of our members, family and friends a joyful holiday season. This year the holiday celebrations may look different but we hope you remain healthy and safe as we head into the new year.
Thank you to the NALFO Awards Committee members across the country for this recognition. In the last academic year our organization worked hard to serve our community and move to make a direct impact on issues of equity. Literacy has long been a philanthropic focus of Lambda Theta Nu but in the last five years we honed in on early childhood literacy - not just the process of reading but also what is being read. Deep gratitude goes to our undergraduates who delve deep to ra...ise money in creative ways to reach our philanthropic mission. We could not be prouder of them. Thank you also to La Mesa Directiva, and our Director of Community Service, who takes the mission of philanthropy and sets it on a course for a meaningful impact in the Latinx community. Congratulations to all of our sisters who serve our community as citizen philanthropists.
While Americans express gratitude this holiday season let us not forget that a more humane and gracious America is one that faces the reality of this country's origins. There is nothing wrong with gathering as long as we don't mythologize Thanksgiving. Let us give thanks but also remember the past. Let us commune in truth, hope and healing.
It is with a very heavy heart that we inform you of the sudden passing of our dear Eternal Lambda, Alma L. Morales. She crossed into the Delta Chapter, Zeta Class on December 2, 1994 at UC Berkeley. We send our condolences to her husband and children. Please respect her family and those who cared and loved her by keeping them in your thoughts. This may be a difficult time for many sisters so please reach out to one another in sisterhood and in love to comfort one another.
We would like to honor all of our Veterans today, including those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Freedom isn't free. Latinx peoples have had a long legacy of military service and from 2020 to 2045 the numbers of Latinx serving in the armed forces is expected to increase. We have a proud legacy of serving this country. We honor them and all veterans who seek peace, stability and freedom here and in the world.
