Today is the last day for our Christmas Resale Shop. We open at 9am close at 2pm. Everything is 50% off today.
The yard sale is going great. We're open till 2pm today and from 9 till 2 tomorrow.
Please note change of address. Do not bring to lakeside historical society. Thank you.
You might think this is Maine Ave in Lakeside but it's not. Can you guess the original name of this street and what it is called now? 3 of the buildings on the left are still on this street. Yes, it is Lakeside.

Marjorie Merritt Riding Julie Murphy Thank you for the great pictures!
We are ready for the 4th of July!
It seems so barren without the trees. In the last 10 years we have lost 4, there are 2 left, one on Maine the other on Parkside st. It's like losing an old friend but the church stand tall and beautiful.
Local history quiz: Can anyone name this house and/or the family to whom it belonged? It's an unused postcard without a date or summary, but there is some writing on the back: "A picture of my house ... (three illegible words - one could be Brown?) Lakeside Calif - my daughter at corner of house." Per "Legends of Lakeside," we had a Brown family living in Lakeside Farms from 1918 to 1957. Any ideas?
Congratulations to LHS member Sarai Johnson for being awarded the 2020 Preservation Leadership Award by the Save Our Heritage Organization (SOHO)! Sarai is a Lakeside resident who also serves on the Community Planning Group. "Her passion for her work and her field are truly an inspiration. She approaches historic preservation from all sides and at all levels. No role is too small, and no job is too big for her to be a part of."

We were asked today if we had any info about the dairy, name on the bottle. LHS has a dairy book that documents all the dairies in Lakeside. Our LHS Dairy committee to date has documented 115 dairies in Lakeside. Billy Ortiz will be taking on the challenge of visiting all the former dairy sites, we have a pretty good map of where they all were so stay tuned for some fun videos.
The 70th anniversary of Lindo Park School was held on April 25th 2019. "On April 25th, 1949, Lindo Park School was dedicated and open to the public. The cost of the new school was $139,000, and Sam M. Harnill was the school architect. The school originally consisted of a kindergarten, six classrooms, and an office, however, the master plan called for expanding to two kindergarten classes, 12 additional classrooms, a cafeteria/auditorium. The expansion was completed in 1952." For more info visit https://www.lsusd.net/domain/659
