It's National Dentist's Day! Lol, I didn't even know it was a thing. I don't even like the dentist. I had a terrible experience with the dentist as a child, so they scare me. I became a dentist because of FREE FOOD provided by the UCSD Pre-Dental Society and the wonderful mentorship of Dr. Irvin Silverstein. My involvement with the organization changed my life forever. Dr. Silverstein's passion for making the world a better place through dentistry has been a influential factor for who l am now. Today, I'm grateful for all my mentors and those who believed in me. It's a great feeling to wake up to do the things I love. Congratulations to Dr. Silverstein on being the recipient of the 2021 ADEA Gies Award.

Getting teeth looking natural is all about the micro details. Five crowns were placed to restore front teeth that have been damaged from an accident. When attention is given to the way light reflects color we can achieve beautiful and realistic looking teeth. We love the end result and so did our patient. My goal is to always give patient the most beautiful, realistic and natural teeth as if they were born with it. Are you ready?

I had a cleaning done in April and went in... - by Jen L. I had a cleaning done in April and went in for a night guard today (August). What impressed me the most were the precautions and safety measures taken concerning COVID-19. Masks are required to be worn by patients until the procedures begin, pre-screen for patients include the standard health questions as well as a forehead temperature screen. The waiting room and front desk are partitioned by plexiglass providing prot...ection to both the staff and patients. Hand sanitizer is available in each room, including the waiting room. Each exam room has a HEPA air purifier, peroxide rinse is administered prior to the cleaning and Dr. Lam and staff all wear a k-95 mask under a surgical mask and a face shield. I was very apprehensive to resume medical appointments for fear of COVID-19, however I felt safest at Dr. Lam's office and have no worries or concerns about returning. Dr. Lam is the first (and only) dentist I've seen other than my Dad (Dr. Fred Larson) - She's awesome and I highly recommend her (and do often when someone asks for a dentist referral) ! Our patient fell and broke her two front teeth. Photos taken just two hours apart. Root canal on the left tooth because the nerve was exposed and composite bonding to get her ready for Christmas. No pain during or after the procedures. Can't wait to make this smile look even better. Next step: comprehensive exam and smile design
