These ghostbusters are fighting myths to keep our community safe! To debunk more myths, especially about toxic masculinity and slut shaming, join us in the quad tmrw at lunch for a special Halloween activity where we will be metaphorically and literally smashing the patriarchy. Free candy included.

Check out the 900 wing! We participated in the Homecoming Hallway Decoration where this year’s theme was Candyland. In the realm of consent, we advocated to not violate boundaries with posters like Don’t Skip Places. With directional signs of yes and no following 3 important questions, we provided a guide for students to check in with their date and ensure that their consent is voluntary (no pressure), enthusiastic (affirmative where only yes means yes!), revocable (can withdraw and back out at any time), and ongoing (continuous). We also advocated for respect like your date is not a game to win or space to land on as well as a powerful statement about not being dehumanized to eye candy or labeled as sweet or sour that is rooted in slut-shaming behavior/clothing.

While you’re watching the Oscars tonight, here’s a sneak peak of Broken Box’s upcoming show Kissed the Girls and Made Them Cry. This show explores various issues high school students face, including peer pressure, stress, toxic masculinity, objectification, sexual harassment and assault. RAINN will be providing resources and info sheets after the performance.
