Hey Gang! So just a note to let everyone know that permissions are set on this page for anyone to post. Feel free to use it as a "bulletin board" for the dog park! Also, it seems every month or so, I get a suggestion for an address correction. Does anyone know what the actual street address is for Lafayette Park? I'm not concerned anyone will get lost trying to find it with any of the suggested addresses, but would like to be accurate.
Does anyone know if Lafayette has lights after dark?
Hey! Please post photos of your pooch, and introduce yourself to the group!
Dog area is still closed. Has anyone heard when it will re-open?
Has anyone heard any updates regarding the poison meatballs?
Olive in awe of a Great Dane. Yes, little dogs and big dogs can play well together! Join us!
So...Some good news (I always feel like the complainer)...The park is dry! It has been for several days! It's no longer a swamp. Still wet in the flagged off areas, but a 90% improvement.
A detail shot of the food around the trash bin...
Someone left our dogs a buffet! A heads up. While we're all a little hyper-sensitive about what our dogs are eating off the sidewalk, all around the trashcan near the entrance of the park is...food. It is (or was) wet, looks like bread...almost like someone was feeding pigeons, and the sprinklers kicked in. I took a close look, and saw pretzels, chips, bread crusts...and thankfully...nothing resembling a meatball.... Anyhow, it seems to smell AMAZING to our four-legged friends, as many dogs ran over to the area to lap it up. So. How about this? If you're going to bring a little picnic lunch to the dog park (or feed pigeons), do us all a courtesy, and eat it in another area. Really not cool spilling human food all over an area that dogs frequent. Especially when we should all be on high alert!
I'll say it. The park is a mess. Wet, muddy, nasty. I'd like to go today, but won't be taking that particular walk given the conditions yesterday (where we all huddle at the bottom of the hill to avoid sloppy an accept damp). I'd really like to write a letter to the Park People to ask them to stop the watering of the grass/mud, but not sure where to start. The over-watering is not only annoying, but causing the turf to get completely destroyed. Any help here? Who do we talk to?
Sad news. Oskar didn't make it. Again, noses up, everyone! Thanks to Juanita MORE! for the update.
