Hi! I thought it was about time for an update! It's obvious I've not maintained this page, so I thought I'd fill you in. About 14 months ago I started dealing with some significant health issues. It's been a long year but I finally feel well again. Meanwhile I stopped taking doula clients for the most part. I did still attend about 10 or so births with some repeats and special circumstances. I will not be taking new clients at this time but I'm still teaching childbirth cl...asses, mostly private sessions. During this season of rest I've also been able to focus on the start of a long time dream, to start a non-profit blessing families with special needs. High Fives for Stacey Inc. is about life with my daughter and our non-profit, come *like* it and stay in touch there! Thank you to everyone who was a part of my doula work; what I thought would be 5 or 6 births a year grew to 28 in the first year and more each year after. When I started, there were less than a handful of doulas in the AV and now here is probably 20 or so! The hospital has shifted it's mindset tremendously and is far more supportive of mom's wishes and bonding time. I am honored and blessed to have witnessed so many families be born and grow and miss it so much.

Artificial scents give me headaches (think plug-ins or scented candles) so I love diffusing oils that not only smell yummy but enhance my overall well being. ***Tomorrow evening is a great chance to learn about Essential Oils! Love it when my Rock Your Birth students send me a picture and share their positive birth experience. Being informed is a huge factor in succeeding at whatever type of birth you desire.
