Tigran’s statement: After witnessing my country in war with the loss of human life. I see it as my duty as an artist to transform the distress and pain into beauty and do what is in my power to spread awareness of the current horrific reality in Nagorno-Karabakh. With our resources and knowledge today, I believe it is p...ossible to solve conflicts with communication in a peaceful and civilized way and not through aggression and hate. Our series #LABathome features Principal Dancer Tigran Sargsyan who most recently danced in George Balanchine’s Apollo at The Broad Stage. During quarantine I have even exercising daily, mostly doing body weight exercises since the gyms are closed, and have been live-streaming short performances in the backyard. I even ordered a punching bag online so I would work out and keep the stamina going.

Here is a look at what's coming in Spring 2021 during Season 15, the Season of Hope! Visionaries / Balanchine + Wheeldon Exclusively at The Broad Stage ... Three masterworks from two superb contemporary choreographers; George Balanchine and Christopher Wheeldon. Ghosts Wheeldon/Winger LA Premiere The ballet follows a four-movement structure where the ‘Ghosts’ are at play in a dark watery playground. The piece evokes spectral atmosphere but leaves space for the viewer to decide for themselves what the fate of these people has been. Slaughter on Tenth Avenue Balanchine/Rodgers and Hart, arranged by Hershy Kay LAB Premiere Slaughter on Tenth Avenue is a mini Broadway show in a ballet. It was originally choreographed for On Your Toes, produced at the Imperial Theatre in New York in 1936 and danced by Ray Bolger and Tamara Geva. Apollo Balanchine/Stravinsky This beautiful abstract piece tells the myth of Apollo and his growth and encounters with three muses. George Balanchine choreographed this piece in 1928 at 24 years old. Today it is still a revelation. #losangelesballet #balletinLA #seasonofhope #georgebalanchine #christopherwheeldon Tigran Sargsyan Petraconcept_official Jasmine Perry Laura Chachich

After having the very painful task of informing subscribers and ticket holders of the cancellation of The Sleeping Beauty performances in June, we were met with an outpouring of well wishes, emails and calls of encouragement, and generous acts of many of those tickets being donated back to the company. We love our vast sprawling city of Los Angeles but suddenly, we feel part of a very close-knit community that understands how crucial the arts are to our society. Many of your... messages have brought us to tears. We want you to know that the health and well-being of our dancers and staff is of the utmost importance and our focus is on keeping everyone safe and protected. There is much work to be done for the 2020/2021 Season and we need your help. Please keep yourselves and loved ones healthy, we look forward to gathering again to enjoy a beautiful ballet performance and to celebrate the arts as a community! #losangelesballet #losangeles #supportthearts #balletinla #stayhome
