Jeff Fischer (drums), Scott McGihon (bass) and Don Reyes (guitar) were the mainstays for The LQMS Teacher Band from 1995-1998. In the bands first year, Wyatt Renew (bass), an eighth grader and Dave Metzler (saxophone) were part of the band...In 1996, Scott McGihon joined the group and they performed as a trio for the rest of their years together. With the departure of Don Reyes in 1998, the group disbanded.

The LQMS Teacher Band was formed with the interest of Don Reyes and Jeff Fischer putting together a group to perform at the school talent show towards the end of each school year.The band liked to change their name each year. For their first talent show on June 8, 1995, they went with "The Distinguished Carpet Band" named after the California Distinguished Carpet rug which was used under the drumset to keep it from

On June 5, 1996 the band used the name "What's in a Name?" on a suggestion from Don Reyes. 1997 was a busy year for the band and they used "LQMS Teacher Band" for their June performance. A highlight for the band earlier than Spring was their 45-minute set at the LQMS '70s staff party.
