Why is it so hard for us to verbalize our gratitude for one another to one another? This is typically a challenge for many. It’s so easy to bring someone’s flaw...s to their attention but often feels awkward to share how grateful we are for their presence in our life. Sometimes it’s the hardest to show vulnerability with the people we are closest to. But the truth is that putting our pride aside and choosing to engage in acts that show our gratitude for one another is exactly where the magic and beauty in our relationships happens! Tomorrow is the perfect day to give this a shot! Choose a few people who you are truly grateful for in your life but who you hesitate sharing your feelings with. Next, take a moment to think about one or two things that you appreciate about them. Finally, find a way to share this with them... ideally in person but if that’s anxiety provoking, then write a note or send a text! It doesn’t matter how you share your gratitude, just that you take the step to share it. It’s in these moments of vulnerability that our relationship with one another gain depth and this is the greatest gift that we can give to one another. Happy Thanksgiving to all! #gratitude #grateful #relationships #happiness #blessings #communication #healthycommunication #positivevibes #positivemindset #therapy #healthyliving #relationshipgoals #anxietyrelief #psychologist #teletherapist #connection #friendship #faith

Join us in this live discussion to process the trauma brought about by the war in Artsakh.

L.A. Psych 15.12.2020

I am a first generation Armenian American who has been blessed with the safety of being raised in the United States. It breaks my heart to know that the children in my homeland of Armenia/Artsakh are not able to experience that same basic need of safety. They are at risk of being bombed and attacked by Azeri forces for their mere choice to continue existing in a land that their ancestors have existed in for centuries. What’s truly disheartening about this war is the fact th...at the majority of the world (including the U.S) is watching and waiting due to their own political needs and affiliations with Turkey (who is supporting Azerbaijan). When, in our history as a country, will we choose to do what is right and just over what is in our political best interest? When will we value what is in our moral and ethical best interest? As a clinical psychologist, one of the traits that I often encourage my clients to lean into is authenticity... a way of life in which our daily actions/choices are in sync with our stated values. How can we state that we stand for what is good and just when, in fact, we are bystanders to injustice daily. We are all guilty of this in some way or other, but the difference is that this one hits home for me. This one is making me want to stand and scream for the world to pay attention and do something. Armenia is a small country that cannot defend itself against the powers of Turkey and Azerbejian. Armenia needs the world to step in and advocate on its behalf. In the words of Martin Luther King, Jr., Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. Are you ready to start living a life in which your actions and choices are aligned with your values? As an Armenian American who is fighting for the future of her homeland, I sure hope so. Please take this opportunity to practice authenticity by encouraging our government to advocate for justice and to stand up for a country that is fighting to exist and is fighting for peace... Armenia needs you! #ArtsakhStrong #RecognizeArtsakh #StopAzerbaijaniAggression #SanctionTurkey #ReligiousPersecution #ChristiansUnderAttack #ArtsakhIsArmenia #peaceforarmenians #speakup

Forgiveness is one of the hardest thing for us to conquer, often because we view it as a sign of weakness. This couldn’t be further from the truth! In reality, being able to forgive someone in spite of the pain they have caused us frees us from being a prisoner of anger, resentment, and bitterness... all feelings that lead to not only our emotional struggles, but also negatively impact our physical well being (high blood pressure, cardiovascular risk). Ultimately, the abilit...y to forgive in spite of someone’s lack of understanding of the pain they may have caused you, is your way of gaining freedom from the pain and a sign of the ultimate strength. If you’re struggling with forgiving either yourself or others, call me to schedule a phone consultation! #fogiveness #resentment #lettinggo #peace #anger #therapy #positiveenergy #positivevibes #forgiveandletgo #ididitforme #truth #healthylifestyle #healthychoices #clarity #mentalclarity See more

Sums it up pretty well, don’t you think? I encountered this beautiful manifesto during a staycation over the past weekend and it really resonated with me. Let’s do our best to keep putting good things into the world, today and every day. ***Side-note: the store it was placed in was so unique and adorable! #manifesto #positivevibes #positivemindset #positivethinking #faithoverfear #loveoverhate #support #love #clarity #therapy #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #psychology #encinotherapist #anxiety #anxietyrelief #goodvibes
