This is what alpaca friendly looks like. Morning coffee time.
Hey look everyone! My chickens are laying!
A pool blew into our property. Our alpacas have never been ones to get into a pool. I thought we'd try again today since it's hot. Here's what happened.
Remember when I told you all about how the ancient camelids originated here in the southwest? Guess what was found while working on the freeway system here in San Diego county.... Ancient camel remains!!! It's kinda neat. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com//fossil-find-ancient-
Here is a creepy but interesting video....I think anyway. "The ants go marching one by one, hurrah... Hurrah!!!"
Here is Paladin joining us for coffee and Zoom Bible study. Happy Sunday!
The chickens are getting out of the coup. Gosh! I'm looking like my mother more and more. I can't wait to get to a salon! It's paid off. The time I've spent with the chickens has made them pretty friendly.
Here is my alpaca minute for the morning. I look so horrible from not getting to the beauty salon and the sloppiness that comes with being able to do anything that all you get to see is the top of my head today. Anyway, my alpaca did not get up when I sat down for coffee. We call this one Dopey. My alpacas are so fun.
I put the chickens in the coup 2 days ago. They didn't know what to think!
The chickens are getting too big for the tub. Joe is outside getting the coup ready. They are more or less fully feathered. We will wait one more week for the littlest chicken to get all her head feathers then it's coup training time. We plan on letting them free range once they know where their house is. Notice the boys are always ready to help.
Hi All, these are some alpacas that I rehomed. Sometimes it bugs people that we don't rescue alpacas ourselves. But there are people that want alpacas and are not particular because they have no desire to breed or have a business. I really do my best to interview people whether or not I think I can sell to them. This gives me a list of appropriate matches for alpacas that need rehoming. Honestly, my list is getting a little short. If you would like to be on this list, do call me at 619-672-7683 and leave a message. I will call back and talk to you about it. Keep in mind that most of these kinds of animals are free if not very cheap. I hope to hear from you.
I haven't kept up with the chickens in my desperate search for toilet paper. Here they are at 4 weeks and a few days. All are growing up well I think... except for "Chicken Little" who is small and refusing to grow head feathers. I want to be able to put them in the coup next week I hope. Once they are coup trained, I will allow them to be free range. I hope they eat the ticks.
Hi Everyone! One thing you can do while on lockdown is to watch your chickens grow. Here they are at 2 weeks old and a few days. Stay safe all and think funny thoughts....they are one of the wonderful things that God has given us.
