Covid has been here for 9+ months now...and winter is looming. Mental health issues related to our lock down and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression and other mental health disorders. NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Illness, has a 24-hour helpline: 800-950-6264. The relapse and overdose rate has increased by 30% since March 2020. I’m asking my small corner of FB to follow suit: Could any two of my Facebook friends just copy and repost to share the helpline far and wide? h/t Danna Sigal

"BEFORE MY DEATH, I HOPE TO OBTAIN MY LIFE" --C. Bukowski Middle Age--All about "unlived life." Looking back to see what you wanted to do, didn't do, and what can still be done with that libido. The Pandemic allows time for reflection and Jungian Analysis "owns" midlife. Maybe time for a tune-up with your therapist or analyst?

This is what tele-therapy looks like. You in your ZOOM ROOM, talking with me. We won't be in the consulting room together for many more months. If you feel the need for therapy, don't wait. This works well and you don't have to drive!

When couples have external stress, it affects how they interact with each other, says Paula Pietromonaco, a professor emerita at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Interactions become less constructive. People are likelier to blame their partner.

"Triggers are normal, enduring vulnerabilities from moments in our past that escalate interactions in the present. They are normal because we all have them, and while their impact can be managed, they can rarely be eliminated."

In good times and bad it can't hurt and is, for many, a significant lifter of mood.
