I haven't made this public until now as I wasn't sure if I was even going to complete this challenge with everything else going on right now...I recently signed up to participate in the Embark challenge through the incredible Unleashed Education. Every 2 weeks I have the opportunity to submit a pet photography image based on a specific theme to be judged and critiqued by a couple of the most incredible and well-respected pet photographers in the industry. This past challenge was Composition 101, where our goal was to create a centered and balanced image (which is honestly not as easy as it seems). I'm honored to share that my image placed in the top 20! Fingers crossed you'll be seeing more posts like this from me.

Can you believe it's already December? This year has absolutely flown by! Since I'm still getting inquiries for Christmas photos I wanted to let you guys know that I am fully booked for 2021. Did you know today is National Take a Walk in the Park Day? We're so lucky to live in an area with so many incredible parks, including the American River Parkway. Worried your dog isn't well enough behaved for a photo session? Well, 4-month-old Piper is here on National Puppy Day to let you know it doesn't matter! I work with dogs of all ages, breeds, temperaments, and training levels. Your dog doesn't have to know fancy tricks for us to capture beautiful images. At four months of age, Piper is the youngest dog to be featured in my Tails of Sacramento book. I had so much fun at her session last night at William Land Park. Sure, she didn't always sit when we wanted her to (or very much at all), and she enjoyed barking at random people, but it didn't stop us from having a blast and capturing some amazing images that her mom will be able to cherish forever. CALLING ALL GREATER SACRAMENTO PET PARENTS Did you miss out on getting your furbaby into the Tails of Sacramento book? Guess what! Our rescues need us now more than ever, so I've decided to open registration back up for a limited time in January! Who knew there was such a thing as a Powderpuff Chinese Crested? Well, you do now! Little Ghetto here had his Tails of Sacramento session done at Truitt Bark Park in Midtown, where he got the chance to hop up on all the benches and play with the other dogs. Ghetto had a rough start to his life, but now he spends his days hanging out with his besties at doggie day care and making friends with everyone he meets.

What if my dog can’t go off leash? It’s not a problem! Most of the dogs I photograph remain on leash throughout the session for their safety. I even have a long line leash that can be used for getting action shots. Leashes will be removed during post processing. Check out the second image to see this shot straight out of the camera.
