I love the process of getting my Brides ready. From the moment we talk about ideas and inspiration to finishing all the final details and final touches. It’s such a special moment because that means they’re getting closer to finally seeing the whole look that they’ve been envisioning. Can you believe this is all of my Bride’s hair?! She has long thick hair and it was perfect for this look! Annie was another Couture Bride of mine. So initially during our trial her curls were a little tighter but we both agreed to loosen the curls a bit and I’m so happy we did! I get lots of questions to how I achieve these beautiful Hollywood Waves, what products do I use, and does it last all night. And to answer those questions, I use a 1 inch curling iron. I prep the h...air sometime with a dry oil. I use the one from @alternahaircare Caviar Dry Oil. I also prep the hair with heat protectant spray from @kenraprofessional and with @schwarzkopfusa tame wild. For hair sprays I always use a freeze spray before curling and after to set the hair. My favorite hairsprays at the moment are from @oligopro, @sebastianpro_official, and the one I’m currently using and on my Bride Annie is from @schwarzkopfusa Osis Freeze 2/Session 3. Sometimes I tease a bit just to break up the curls and separate them. Or I’ll use a volume powder to add volume to the hair. On Annie I didn’t have to tease much since she has natural volume from how thick her hair is. To keep the curls lasting all day, I set the curls and let them cool down completely. I also use medium to high heat depending on hair texture/porosity. I usually keep the heat on for 10-15 seconds. For thick hair it’ll be 15-20 seconds to make sure the heat is penetrating through out the hair. You wanna make sure the heat and amount of time is the same to keep all the curls uniformed and even. Another thing to add, if you wear extensions, I suggest investing in Bellami Extensions. It’s the only one I’ve worked on that hold curls like your natural hair. The last thing you wanna worry about are your Amazon extensions flattening while your natural hair is still nice and curled. With that being said, YES it will last all day even through out the night and til the next day! I get a lot of feed back from my Brides and non bridal clients how they loved the way it stayed curled and that they could wear it the next day!
