Last Monday, CCIA's Cannabis Action PAC hosted a successful fundraising event in San Diego with local Assemblymember Todd Gloria & Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez in attendance. Both spoke about working more hand-in-hand with CCIA, our members, and the cannabis industry at large. They both stressed the importance of enforcement and issues with the unregulated market. Monday's event was a great success thanks to the diligent organizing efforts of CCIA's own Kimberly Simms, and our sponsors: JHY Partners, Law Offices of Kimberly Simms, McElfresh Law, Solid Accounting Services, Cannabis Connect, Therapy Tonics, Flow Kana, and Murchison & Company, LLP! Thank you again to everyone who supported this event.

It was a mixed bag in the legislature this year. Progress was made, but Gov. Newsom extinguished a few sparks recently. Read more on LAT.
This trend is becoming more and more common. How do you feel about former electeds & government officials transitioning to the industry they used to regulate? https://www.latimes.com//california-politicians-bureaucrat
Federal financial reforms for the cannabis industry could be on their way! The SAFE Banking Act is now headed to the Senate.
The vaping health crisis is an industry crisis until a solution is reached. The BCC will now be creating even more advertising campaigns to educate the public on the dangers of the illicit market.
CCIA works so hard to ensure that the cannabis sector is represented in a professional and coordinated way at the state level. I'm proud to sit on the Board of Directors, and would encourage all California-based businesses to get involved too.
Always happy to chat cannabis business law with Super Lawyers. Find out what a cannabis startup needs that others may not even think of!
Illicit products often carry recognizable brand names & pack a punch with up to 10 times more THC than is legally allowed in California. Where does this stream of products come from? https://www.latimes.com//knockoff-cannabis-products-headac
